Abstract

This study aims is to determine the effect of sample size and the number of option answer toward the reliability coefficient of McDonald in the affective negative instrument. The research was conducted in SMAN Tanggamus regency by using the cluster random sampling, there were 500 students participated. This research used t-test analysis. The result of the research show that: (1) the affective negative instrument that uses 5 options and 6 options of McDonald reliability coefficient in the sample size is 500 respondents are higher than 300 respondents, (2) the affective negative instrument that uses the sample size 300 respondents and 500 respondents of McDonald reliability coefficient with 6 options are higher than 5 options.
