Abstract
This qualitative research was aimed to explore the structures and schemata of the story Nefertari Sang Ratu Heretik (NSRH), a novel by Michelle Moran. The analysis of Levi Strauss’ Structuralism and Geertz’s Hermeneutics was used as the basis in this content analysis research. The findings showed that the structures of the story had relatively stable patterns properly described in the story system which was ordered by the transforming episodes and certain relational pattern units. The structures presented a schemata which was interpreted as a sequential process of Nefertari to be the crowned-Queen. The process could be outlined and predicted. In addition, the structure of the story also progressed in a frame describing the life of Nefertari. In other words, the structure progressed in a certain defined frame.
