Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui penilaian limbah kulit kacang pistachio sebagai bahan baku pembuatan aksesoris. Adapun penelitian ini di Jurusan IKK Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta pada bulan Juni 2016 sampai Januari 2017. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti membuat 15 produk aksesoris berupa kalung, gelang ,dan anting yang berasal dari limbah kulit kacang pistachio dengan sumber inspirasi batu pirus. Prosedur pengumpulan data melalui tahap wawancara pada lima orang panelis ahli dalam bidang aksesoris. Tahapan penelitian berupa pengumpulan limbah kulit kacang pistachio, proses pengolahan limbah kulit kacang pistachio, dan pembuatan aksesoris dari limbah kulit kacang pistachio. Setelah melakukan tahap penelitian, dilakukan penilaian produk kalung dilihat berdasarkan teori desain meliputi unsur desain dan prinsip desain. Hasil penilaian panelis berdasarkan teori desain berupa deskripsi data menunjukan bahwa desain produk aksesoris dari limbah kulit kacang pistachio memenuhi unsur teori desain meliputi unsur desain (bentuk, ukuran, tekstur, dan warna) dan prinsip desain (kesederhanaan, harmoni/keselarasan, irama, pusat perhatian, dan keseimbangan). Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa limbah kulit kacang pistachio memiliki nilai sebagai bahan baku pembuatan produk aksesoris. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berguna untuk memberi informasi dan motivasi terutama dalam meningkatkan kualitas dari segi kreativitas dalam memanfaatkan limbah menjadi suatu produk fashion yang baik. The study aims to find out the valuation of the pistachio shells waste design as the creation of accessories product. This study was conducted at the Department of IKK of Engineering Faculty, State University of Jakarta during June 2016 to January 2017. This study used qualitative descriptive method. The researcher created 15 accessories products such as necklaces, bracelets, and earrings from the pistachio shells waste with an inspiration source of turquoise stone. The data collection procedures were through the interview stage from five expert panelists in the field of accessories. The stages of the research were collecting pistachio shells waste, processing pistachio shells waste, and manufacturing accessories product from pistachio shells waste. After doing the research stages, it was conducted the valuation of necklace products based on the design theory including design elements and principles. The Results of the panelist valuation based on the theory of design in the form of a description showed that the accessories product design from the pistachio shells waste fulfilled the elements of design theory including design elements (shape, size, texture, and colours) and design principles (simplicity, harmony, rhythm, centre of interest, and balance). So it can be concluded that the pistachio shells waste has a value as raw material for the manufacture of accessories products. This study is expected to be useful and giving motivation to information members, especially in improving the quality in terms of creativity in utilizing the waste into good fashion products.
