Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of applying Discovery learning on the senior high school student’s physics learning achievement. This research had been done from January to Febuary in 2011 at SMA Negeri 26 Kabupaten Tangerang. The research method which is used is quation experiment. On this research, sample is obtained by using pretest-posttest equivalent group design technique and the sample is the students of class X. One class as experiment class by discovery learning and one class as a controlled class by conventional learning. The instrument which used in this research is objective test in multiple choice type followed by five options to measure the influence of the student’s physics learning achievement in dynamical electricity lesson. The testing of analysis requirement had been done normality test and hoogenity one. The normality is searched by Chi square (χ 2 ), the result has found that the experiment and controlled class datas before and after doing the research are normal. The homogeneity is search by F test, the result is both classes are homogeny or it derives from similar sample. The testing oh hypothesis uses t-test by significant standard  = 0,05 with the freedom degree 72, obtained tcount = 3,01 and ttable = 1,66, it means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Therefore the writer can conclude that there is influence of applying discovery learning on the senior high school student’s physics learning achievement.
