Abstract
Studi ini berfokus untuk menganalisis penggambaran narsisme pada lirik lagu dari Ariana Grande. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis�interpretatif. Teori dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Semiotik dari Roland Barthes yang berisi penjelasan tentang makna denotasi dan juga konotasi yang digunakan untuk menemukan penggambaran narsisme dalam lirik lagu Ariana Grande. Studi ini menggunakan teori narsisme dari Aaron Beck untuk mengungkapkan jenis-jenis narsisme yang digambarkan dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Jenis-jenis dari narsisme oleh Emmons adalah Leadership / Authority, Self-Absorption / Self-Admiration, Superiority / Arrogance, Exploitativeness / Entitlement. Karakteristik yang paling dominan adalah Self-Absorption/Self-Admiration dan Superiority/Arrogance. Temuan ini menganalisis makna denotatif dan konotatif yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu melalui kata, klausa, frasa, dan kalimat untuk mengungkapkan bahwa narsisme yang ditunjukkan mengandung sikap sombong, merasa lebih baik dari orang lain, mencari perhatian, kemampuan untuk mempengaruhi orang lain, dan ingin dikagumi. * This study focuses on analyzing the potrayal of narcissism in song lyrics from Ariana Grande. This study is using analytical-interpretative descriptive method. The theories used in this research are Semiotic theory from Roland Barthes which contains an explanation of the meaning of denotation and also the connotation used to find narrative narcissism in Ariana Grande song lyrics. In addition, this study uses the narcissism theory from Aaron Beck to reveal the types of narcissism portray in the lyrics of the song. The types of narcissism by Emmons are Leadership / Authority, Self-Absorption / Self-Admiration, Superiority / Arrogance, Exploitativeness / Entitlement. The most dominant characteristics are Self�Absorption / Self-Admiration and Superiority / Arrogance. The findings analyze the meaning of denotations and connotations contained in song lyrics through words, clauses, phrases, and sentences to reveal that narcissism shown contains arrogance, feels better than others, seeks attention, ability to influence others, and wants to be admired .
