Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki tentang perspektif NOS (Nature of Science) siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia pada materi asam basa yang telah diintegrasikan dengan konteks Islam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA di Jakarta secara daring pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021 dengan partisipan berupa 36 siswa kelas XI MIPA. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menerapkan proses pembelajaran berbasis nilai yang terdiri atas lima tahapan, yaitu value reflection, problem solving/decision making, content integration, project development, dan transformation. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data terfokus pada pertanyaan terbuka, lembar observasi, wawancara, dan reflektif jurnal siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perspektif NOS (Nature of Science)siswa sudah cukup baik hanya saja dari ketujuh aspek NOS (Nature of Science), yakni tentativeness, empirical basis, creativity, sociocultural embeddedness, observation and inference, laws and theories, dan interdependence of these aspects terdapat empat aspek yang masih perlu diperbaiki. Keempat aspek tersebut antara lain empirical basis, sociocultural embeddedness, observation and inference, dan laws and theories. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu membantu para siswa dalam memahami aspek-aspek NOS (Nature of Science) untuk ke depannya. Selanjutnya, materi-materi kimia yang dapat diintegrasikan dengan konteks Islam dapat diterapkan lebih banyak lagi dalam proses pembelajaran untuk mencapai pemahaman aspek NOS (Nature of Science) yang lebih baik tentunya dengan memperhatikan ketepatan tahapan pembelajaran, kesesuaian materi, keterlibatan siswa dan pengaturan waktu yang baik. This research aimed is to investigate NOS (Nature of Science) students’ perspective in chemistry learning on acid-base matter integrated with Islamic context. The research was conducted in ones of senior high school in Jakarta through online class in the even semester of 2020/2021 academic year which participated by 36 students of XI MIPA. The research was conducted by applying the value-based learning process which consists of five stages that are value reflection, problem solving/decision making, content integration, project development and transformation. Data collection is performed through qualitative method consisting of opened-questions, observation sheet, students interviews and written reflections. The results show that the NOS (Nature of Science) students’ perspectives are in good level. However from the seven aspects of NOS (Nature of Science) namely tentativeness, empirical basis, creativity, sociocultural embeddedness, observation and inference, laws and theories, and interdependence of these aspects, there are four aspects that still need to be improved. These four aspects include empirical basis, sociocultural embeddedness, observation and inference, and laws and theories. Therefore, teachers should assist students in understanding aspects of NOS (Nature of Science) for the future. Furthermore, chemistry matter which can be integrated with the Islamic context have to be more applied in the learning process to achieve better understanding of NOS (Nature of Science) aspects in while should be paying attention to the accuracy of the learning stages, the suitable topics, students’ engagement and good time management.
