Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi masyarakat Surabaya setelah proklamasi kemerdekaan 17 Agustus 1945 dan penyebab terjadinya pertempuran Surabaya 10 November 1945. Karya ilmiah ini membahas tentang sejarah peristiwa – peristiwa penting yang melatarbelakangi terjadinya Pertempuran Surabaya 10 November 1945. Pertempuran Surabaya adalah pertempuran terbesar pada masa Perang Revolusi Kemerdekaan Indonesia 1945 – 1949. Penulisan ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan sejarah yang ingin melihat kondisi menuju peristiwa pertempuran 10 November 1945 di Surabaya. Karya ilmiah dibuat dengan menggunakan metode penulisan deskriptif dengan pendekatan sejarah dengan penyajian data hasil penulisan berbentuk deskriptif naratif yang lebih banyak menguraikan kajian dalam dimensi ruang dan waktu. Hasil penulisan ini menceritakan deretan peristiwa – peristiwa yang berpuncak pada pertempuran besar yang terjadi di Surabaya pada 10 November 1945. Dimana angkatan perang negara ini yang baru terbentuk sebulan sebelumnya serta laskar – laskar perjuangan yang terdiri dari berbagai macam golongan masyarakat dari muda sampai tua, dari berbagai golongan kelas sosial, agama dan ras bersatu bahu membahu untuk mengusir pasukan Inggris yang memboncengi Belanda untuk menjajah kembali bangsa ini. The main purpose of this paper is to discover the condition of the people of Surabaya after the proclamation of independent 17 August 1945 and the cause of Battle of Surabaya 10 November 1945. This paper discuss the significant events that shape the Battle of Surabaya 10 November 1945. The Battle of Surabaya is the largest battle in Indonesian Revolutionary War of Independent 1945 – 1949. Writing is done with historical approach that took a closer look to the condition towards the battle of 10 November 1945 in Surabaya. This scientific paper is made by using descriptive writing method with historical approach with the presentation of the writing is a narrative descriptive that analyze the study in time and space dimensions. The result of this paper tells a row of events that culminated in major battle that occurred in Surabaya on 10 November 1945. Where the newly formed army of this country that just formed a month earlier and various paramilitary units that consists of various social classes, religion and race work together to drive out the British troops who rode the Dutch to recolonize this nation.
