Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti tentang motivasi pekerja anak usia sekolah di Kampung Kelapa Dua. Anak usia sekolah yang mayoritas lebih memilih bekerja dibandingkan dengan sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan di Kampung Kelapa Dua, Kelurahan Padurenan, Kecamatan Mustikajaya, Kota Bekasi selama tiga bulan dari Februari sampai dengan April 2015. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa : a. Pertumbuhan tingkat pendidikan sangat pesat seiring dengan banyaknya bangunan sekolah baru yang dibangun oleh pemerintah kota Bekasi. Tetapi tetap saja bahwa pendidikan yang mereka jalankan hanya sampai Sekolah Menengah Pertama, karena ketiadaan biaya pendidikan. b. Penyebab anak usia sekolah bekerja meliputi faktor internal dari dalam anak itu sendiri adalah kurangnya motivasi untuk sekolah dan belajar, anak tersebut mempunyai rasa malas untuk bersekolah. Selain itu faktor eksternal adalah lingkungan pekerja usia sekolah, lingkungan keluarga yang tidak mendukung pekerja anak usia sekolah untuk bersekolah, kemudahan penerimaan karyawan oleh perusahaan yang tidak mengharuskan berpendidikan tinggi, dan pemikiran masyarakat yang masih tradisional. c. Upaya keluarga dan pemerintah daerah setempat belum maksimal untuk membuat anak pekerja usia sekolah termotivasi untuk bersekolah dibandingkan bekerja. This study aimed to examine the motivation of workers of school age children in Kampung Kelapa Dua. The majority of school-age children who prefer to work than to school. The study was conducted in Kampung Kelapa Dua, Village Padurenan, Mustikajaya subdistrict, Bekasi City for three months from February to April 2015. The method used qualitative data collection through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The study concluded that: a) The level of education began to grow rapidly as the number of new school buildings constructed by the municipality of Bekasi. But nonetheless that the education that they run only limited to junior high school, because if meraka melajutkan school kejenjang higher meraka will think about the cost of education. B) Cause of school-age children to work due to a lack of interest in learning from the children themselves and lack encouragement or motivation of the family as well as her own environment so it is very influential for school-age workers prefer to work than at school, the ease of hiring by companies that do not require high levels of education, and the mindset of the people who are still traditional .; c) Efforts family and the local government have not been up to create school-age children of workers are motivated to go to school than work.
