Abstract

***** The lack of student responsibility as learners is seen during the online learning process, many students don't want to try when they have learning difficulties which also indicates the learning independence of grade VII students at SMPN 30 Jakarta, which turns out to be still not enough in learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to determine the influence of self efficacy on the independence of grade VII students of SMPN 30 Jakarta in the covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a quantitative method and the data collection technique used in this research is an instrument in the form of a questionnaire using a Likert scale. This research was conducted on 140 students of class VII SMPN 30 Jakarta by taking samples using a simple random sampling technique. The results of this study found that self-efficacy had an influence on the learning independence of grade VII students of SMPN 30 Jakarta in the covid-19 pandemic with a regression equation value of Y = 18.657 + 1.386X. In the calculation of the correlation coefficient of 0.727 and the analysis of the results of the t-test calculation, it was found that the value of sig. 0.00 <0.05 or tcount (12.453) > ttable (1.9772), which means Ha is accepted while Ho is rejected. Student learning independence is also determined by the self-efficacy factor of 52.9%, while 47.1% is caused by other factors not examined by the researcher. So it can be concluded that the self-efficacy variable affects the learning independence of grade VII students at SMPN 30 Jakarta in the covid-19 pandemic.
