Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kompensator daya merk ”Home Elektrik Saver” mampu menghemat energi listrik. Kompensator daya bekerja dengan cara memperbaiki faktor daya, sehingga daya reaktif akan diminimalisir dan daya aktif akan lebih efektif dalam pemanfaatannya. Penelitian dilakukan di laboratorium instalasi listrik Teknik Elektro Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Jakarta dari bulan April sampai dengan bulan Juli 2012. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode True Experimental Research dengan menggunakan data-data hasil pengukuran dan pengujian secara langsung kompensator daya terhadap beban listrik. Kompensator daya merk ”Home Elektrik Saver” telah berhasil dilakukan pengujian. Kompensator daya merk ”Home Elektrik Saver” dapat menghemat daya pada beban tunggal kipas angin sebesar 8,4 % dan menghemat daya sebesar 2,24 % serta menurunkan arus sebesar 26,67 % pada beban tunggal Lemari Es. Pada beban campuran antara Seterika dan Kipas Angin terjadi penghematan daya aktif sebesar 3,45 % serta terjadi kenaikan arus sebesar 7,95 %. ***** The study was conducted with the aim to find out how much power compensator brands "Home Electric Saver" is able to save electrical energy. Power compensator works by improving the power factor, so that reactive power will be minimized and the active power will be more effective in its utilization. The study was conducted in the laboratory of electrical installations, Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Jakarta from April until July 2012. The research method used is True Experimental Research Methods by using the measurement data and testing results directly power compensator to the electrical load. Power Compensator brands "Home Electric Saver" has been successfully tested. Power Compensator brands "Home Electric Saver" can save power on a single load of 8.4% the fan and power saving of 2.24% and 26.67% decrease in current of a single load Refrigerator. On a mixture of iron load and occurs active power Fan savings of 3.45% and the current increase of 7.95%.
