Abstract

Skripsi yang berjudul Peranan dan Kontribusi Surat Kabar Merdeka Pada Masa Revolusi Fisik (1945-1949) yang tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja peranan dan kontribusi Surat kabar Merdeka yang pada saat itu menjadi salah satu surat kabar yang memiliki pengaruh yang besar bagi dunia persuratkabaran di Jakarta saat itu, terutama pada masa revolusi fisik. Metode yang digunakan pada skripsi ini adalah penelitian sejarah secara deskriptif naratif yang memiliki tahapan seperti pengumpulan data berdasarkan fakta yang ditemukan, meinterpretasikan setiap fakta yang telah ditemukan dan menarik kesimpulan berdasarkan kejadian masa lampau. Adapun penelitian sejarah dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan seperti Heuristik, Kritik sumber, interpretasi dan penulisan sejarah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan surat kabar Merdeka mempunyai peranan dan kontribusi yang sangat signifikan untuk memberitahukan kepada masyarakat umum bahwa Indonesia benar-benar telah memproklamasikan kemerdekaannya dengan berbagai cara, dimulai dari menuliskan opini mereka lewat kartun politik, menyajikan berita yang saat itu sedang terjadi di masyarakat, memasukan iklan yang akhirnya dimanfaatkan sebagai propaganda kemerdekaan dan penggalangan dana kemerdekaan. Walaupun ada sedikit intrik yang menjadi perpecahan dalam tubuh Merdeka sampai akhirnya bisa bertahan hingga revolusi fisik selesai. ***** The thesis entitled Role and Contribution of the Merdeka Newspaper During the Physical Revolution Period (1945-1949), the purpose of this research is to find out the role and contribution of the Merdeka Newspaper which at that time became one of the newspapers that had a great influence on the world of newspapers in Jakarta at that time, especially during the physical revolution. The method used in this thesis is a historical descriptive narrative research which has stages such as collecting data based on the facts found, interpreting each fact that has been found and drawing conclusions based on past events. The historical research was carried out in several stages such as heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historical writing. The results of this study show that the Merdeka newspaper has a very significant role and contribution to inform the general public that Indonesia has actually proclaimed its independence in various ways, starting from writing their opinions through political cartoons, presenting news that was currently happening in society, including advertisements which were eventually used as independence propaganda and fundraising independence. Although there were a few intrigues that became disputes within the Merdeka body, they were able to last until the physical revolution was over.
