Abstract

ABSTRAK Disertasi ini membahas pemerolehan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing bagi Kusir Cidomo, dalam penelitian ini peneliti menerapkan inkuiri naturalistic. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih dalam, bagaimana Kusir Cidomo Memperoleh kemampuan berbicara berbahasa Inggris, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dan hambatan yang dihadapi serta solusinya dengan menggunkan grand theory teori behaviorism dan nativism. Untuk mendapatkan data dalam studi ini peneliti melakukan lima bulan dan wawancara mendalam dengan dua informan yang telah dipilih sebelumnya,. Ada empat jenis proses analisis data. Reduksi Data Condensation atau open coding, Data Display atau axial coding, verification or selective coding Kesimpulan, Penggambaran/Verifikasi Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa kedua Kusir cidomo memperoleh kemampuan berbahasa Inggris bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing melalui pengamatan, mendengarkan dan melibatkan penggunaan diksi, sintaksis, fonetik, sedangkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya adalah lingkungan tempat tinggal, lingkungan kerja, motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik, sikap, frekuensi dan kesulitan dalam menghafal kosakata karena mereka telah menguasai bahasa asing itu sejak mereka berusia empat puluh tahun. Hambatan yang dihadapi antara lain pengucapan, interferensi fonologi, perubahan bunyi beberapa fonem seperti fonem F ke P, V ke F, dan B ke P, interferensi bahasa pertama dan solusinya mereka menggunakan strategi penemuan dan strategi konsolidasi. Kebaruan penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan naturalistik inkuari, subyek penelitian tidak bisa baca tulis, berusia 40 tahun dan di lingkungan non formal. Pemerolehan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing pada Kusir cidomo melalui mendengarkan, pemerolehan diksi, sintaksis, fonetik dalam keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris mereka termasuk dalam kategori baik serta penguasaan kosakata dapat diperoleh dengan cara yang mudah dan menyenangkan. Hal ini memberikan indikasi bahwa Pemerolehan bahasa Inggris melalui mendengarkan, memilih diksi yang tepat, sintaksis dan fonetik sangat praktis dan memudahkan Kusir cidomo untuk memperoleh kemampuan berbicara dan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris dalam percakapan sehari-hari dengan tamu asing Kata Kunci. Bahasa Inggris, Akuisisi, Bahasa Asing, Kusir cidomo ******** ABSTRACTS This dissertation discusses the acquisition of English as a foreign language of Cart Drivers, in this study the researcher applies naturalistic inquiry. The purpose of this study was to find out more deeply how Cart drivers acquire the competence of speaking English, the influencing factors and the obstacles they faced and behaviorism and nativism theory are used . To get data in this study, the researchers conducted five months and in-depth interviews with two previously selected informants. There are four types of data analysis processes. Data Condensation reduction or open coding, Data Display or axial coding, verification or selective coding Conclusion, Drawing/Verification The results were found that both Cart drivers acquired English proficiency as a foreign language by involving the use of diction, syntax, phonetics, while the other factors which affect it is the environment in which they live, work environment, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, attitude, frequency and difficulty in memorizing vocabulary because they have mastered the foreign language since they were forty years old. Obstacle faced include pronunciation, phonological interference, sound changes of several phonemes such as phonemes F to P, V to F, and B to P, first language interference and their solutions were using discovery strategies and consolidation strategies. The novelty of this study are applied naturalistic inqiry, subjects of study letterless 40 years old and in a non- formal environment. The acquisition of English as a foreign language for Cart drivers through listening, acquisition of diction, syntax, phonetics in their English speaking skills is included in the good category and mastery of vocabulary can be obtained in an easy and fun way. This indicates that the acquisition of English through diction, syntax and phonetic techniques is very practical and makes it easier for Cart drivers to acquire speaking skills and mastery of English vocabulary in daily conversations with foreign guests.
