Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui profil Masyarakat Etnis Arab di Perumahan Cikaret Hijau Bogor, interaksi sosial antara mereka dengan penduduk non-Arab di sana, dan bentuk toleransi yang mereka lakukan terhadap penduduk non-Arab di sana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 7 orang responden dengan rincian 3 orang Masyarakat Etnis Arab sebagai Key Informant, 3 orang penduduk non-Arab sebagai Informant, serta 1 orang sebagai Expert. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April hingga Juni 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Masyarakat Etnis Arab di Perumahan Cikaret Hijau Bogor merupakan keturunan dari imigran Hadramaut dan termasuk ke dalam Kelompok Masyaikh. 2) Dalam berinteraksi sosial dengan penduduk non-Arab, kontak sosial mengarah pada kerja sama dan komunikasi berjalan dengan lancar. 3) Bentuk toleransi yang mereka lakukan terhadap penduduk non-Arab adalah menerima siapa saja dari etnis lain secara terbuka, berusaha memahami dan menghargai perbedaan budaya pada etnis lain, memahami perbedaan budaya pada diri sendiri, merespon ketidaknyamanan dari perbedaan budaya dengan bersabar, merespon tindakan negatif dengan memaafkan, merasa senang dengan keberadaan etnis lain, tetap peduli kepada orang lain meskipun etnisnya berbeda, dan menghargai kebaikan-kebaikan yang datang dari etnis lain. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Masyarakat Etnis Arab di Perumahan Cikaret Hijau Bogor memiliki persamaan leluhur, asal tempat, dan memiliki hubungan keluarga atau teman dekat dengan sesama Etnis Arab di sana. Proses interaksi sosial yang terjadi di antara mereka dengan penduduk non-Arab di Perumahan Cikaret Hijau Bogor adalah asosiatif dan berada pada tahap asimilasi. Bentuk toleransi yang dilakukan oleh Masyarakat Etnis Arab di Perumahan Cikaret Hijau Bogor terhadap penduduk non-Arab di sana sudah sesuai dengan butir-butir karakter toleransi menurut Dianne Tillman, sehingga mereka dapat hidup berdampingan secara damai dan harmonis. ***** This research aims to determine: the profile of the Arab Ethnic Community in Cikaret Hijau Bogor Residence, the social interaction between them and the non-Arab residents there, and the form of tolerance they carry out towards the non-Arab residents there. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study involved 7 respondents with details of 3 people of the Arab Ethnic Community as Key Informants, 3 non-Arabs as Informants, and 1 person as Expert. This research was conducted from April to June 2022. The results showed that: 1) The Arab Ethnic Community in Cikaret Hijau Bogor Residence are descendants from Hadramaut immigrants and belonged to the Masyaikh Group. 2) In social interaction with non-Arab residents, the social contact leads to cooperation and the communication runs smoothly. 3) The forms of tolerance that they do to the non-Arab population are openly accepting anyone from other ethnicities, trying to understand and respecting cultural differences in other ethnicities, understanding the cultural differences from theirselves, responding to discomfort from cultural differences with patience, responding to negative actions by forgiving, feeling happy with the existence of other ethnicities, still care for others even though their ethnicity is different, and appreciate the goodness that comes from other ethnicities. The conclusion of this study is that the Arab Ethnic Community in Cikaret Hijau Bogor Residence has a common ancestry, place of origin, and has family or close friend relationships with fellow Arabs there. The process of social interaction that occurs between them and the non-Arab residents in Cikaret Hijau Bogor Residence is associative and on the assimilation stage. The form of tolerance carried out by the Arab Ethnic Community in Cikaret Hijau Bogor Residence in social interaction with the non-Arab residents there is already in accordance with the points of tolerance character according to Dianne Tillman, so they can live side by side in peace and harmony.
