Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran pengasuh dalam pengembangan karakter religius, metode-metode yang digunakan dalam mencapai karakter religius serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pengembangan karakter religius oleh pengasuh di Yayasan Anak Yatim Alza el-Rohmah Teluk Jambe Karawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang dimana jenis penilitiannya berupa penelitian lapangan atau field research. Sumber data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Observasi dilaksanakan di yayasan anak yatim Alza el-Rohmah Teluk Jambe Karawang, Jawa Barat pada bulan Maret tahun 2022. Teori yang digunakan teori pengasuhan, pendidikan karakter, dan karakter religius. Hasil penelitian yang ditunjukkan bahwasanya peran pengasuh dalam pengembangan karakter anak yatim ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pendidikan, membimbing, memberikan teladan, motivasi. Dibuktikannya dengan perubahan yang signifikan terjadi pada saat anak yatim belum tinggal di yayasan dan sudah tinggal di yayasan. Perubahannya menunjukkan karakter religius yakni jujur, bermanfaat terhadap orang lain serta disiplin yang tinggi. ***** This study aims to describe the role of caregivers in the development of religious character, the methods used in achieving religious character as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of religious character by caregivers at the Alza el-Rohmah Orphans Foundation Teluk Jambe Karawang. This study uses qualitative research methods where the type of research is in the form of field research or field research. Sources of data obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation studies. Observations were carried out at the Alza el-Rohmah orphanage, Teluk Jambe, Karawang, West Java in March 2022. The theory used is parenting theory, character education, and religious character. The results of the study showed that the role of caregivers in developing the character of orphans was carried out by providing education, guiding, setting an example, and motivating. This is evidenced by the significant changes that occurred when the orphans had not yet lived in the foundation and had already lived in the foundation. The changes show good morals and religion.
