Abstract

ABSTRAK Reo Putera. Otonomi dan Kuasa Perempuan dalam Keluarga Eks-Migran (Studi pada Tiga Keluarga Eks-Migran Desa Cirinten, Kecamatan Cirinten, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten). Skripsi Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2020. Autonomy and Power of Women in Ex-Migrant Families (Study of Three Ex-Migrant Families in Cirinten Village, Cirinten District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province). Thesis of Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, 2020. This study aims to determine how the form of autonomy (the right to regulate) and the power (authority) of ex-migrant women in three ex-migrant families in Cirinten Village based on their class. In addition, to find out how the impact of autonomy and power of ex-migrant women on their families in the village of Cirinten. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to explain the autonomy and power of women in the ex-migrant family of Cirinten Village in each family class (lower, middle and upper) based on the size of the level of education, income, employment and social status of individuals in the community. The data collection technique that the researchers used was observation, which was the researcher directly observing activities in three ex-migrant families including his husband and wife in carrying out their daily routines in Cirinten Village. In addition, researchers also conducted interviews with several village informants such as village heads, community leaders, village elders, and others. This research was conducted approximately six months, starting from February to June 2019. The findings of this study indicate a capital struggle in power competition. Then, in the lower and middle class families there is a complete dominance of autonomy and power by women, after ex-migrants (role reversal). Then, in the upper class families only a little dominance of women's power (the greatest power is still the husband). Then, the motive for migrating women in lower-middle class families is the economy and few individuals, but in upper families is the individual motive. The motive for migration as a power strategy (if the motives are individual or change into individuals) have an impact on family change. Then, the impact of the autonomy and power of women in their families after ex-migrants is the emergence of divorce due to interruption of the in-laws of lower class families and arising of a husband's dependence on his wife (money and work) shown by lower-middle-class families, due to husbands not again the main breadwinner. Whereas in upper class families that is not, because the husband is still more capable than the wife. Another impact is the emergence of conflicting children's education (reflection on children's education) that occurs in the lower-middle class. Whereas the upper class shows partnership in children's education decisions. In addition, the relationship pattern of husband and wife relations in three ex-migrant families shows a shadow partnership.
