Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian karya inovasi yang bertujuan untuk melihat penggunaan teknologi informasi berbasis sistem database dalam kegiatan administrasi sekolah di SMP Negeri 37 Bekasi, serta menghasilkan produk “Sistem Database administrasi Sekolah”. Penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan November 2011 sampai dengan bulan Januari 2012 dengan menggunakan metode siklus hidup pengembangan sistem atau System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), yang terdiri dari: 1) perencanaan sistem, 2) analisis sistem, 3) disain sistem, 4) seleksi sistem, 5) implementasi sistem, dan 6) perawatan sistem. Key informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepala SMP Negeri 37 Bekasi, Kepala Urusan Tata Usaha SMP Negeri 37 Bekasi, dan Staff Tata Usaha SMP Negeri 37 Bekasi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pengolahan dan pengelolaan data dan informasi, pihak sekolah belum mampu memanfaatkan teknologi informasi. Data dan informasi yang ada disimpan dalam sebuah rak-rak penyimpanan yang diletakan dalam lemari penyimpanan arsip. Selama ini pihak sekolah telah memanfaatkan media komputer dalam kegiatan administrasi sekolah, hanya saja media komputer tersebut hanya digunakan sebagai alat untuk melakukan pengetikan surat-surat sekolah. Dalam proses pengelolaan data langkah awal yang dilakukan pihak sekolah adalah melakukan pendataan terhadap seluruh komponen sekolah yang ada tentunya pihak sekolah juga menyediakan form pendataan sendiri dalam pelaksanaannya. Hasil dari proses pendataan ini diperoleh gambaran datadata dan informasi yang ada disekolah, namun ketidakmampuan dari pihak sekolah untuk menyusun, mengolah dan mengelola data-data dan informasi yang ada menjadi kendala dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan akan data dan informasi sekolah. Untuk mengatasi masalah dalam penyusunan, penyimpanan, pengelolaan, dan penyediaan data sekolah, maka dilakukan sebuah pengembangan sistem berupa pembuatan produk “Sistem Database”. “Sistem Database” merupakan suatu program yang dapat berjalan di berbagai sistem operasi. Sistem database ini bermanfaat dalam memasukkan, mengolah, dan mengakases kembali data dan informasi yang dibutuhkan dengan mudah, cepat, dan tepat. iii Implikasi dari “Sistem Database” ini adalah terwujudnya pelayanan administrasi sekolah yang efektif dan efisien yang dapat memenuhi seluruh kebutuhan akan data dan informasi sekolah yang ada dan juga membantu mewujudkan visi dan misi sekolah dalam menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten dan berkualitas. sebagai upaya dalam peningkatkan pengelolaan data dan informasi sekolah dapat dilakukan dengan menyediakan sumber daya manusia yang mampu mengelola dan dapat menciptakan program aplikasi pengolahan data dan informasi sekolah “Sistem Database Sekolah”, menyediakan data dan informasi yang dibutuhkan dalam database, memberikan penyuluhan kepada pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan tentang pemanfaatan media komputer dalam pengelolaan data dan informasi, serta mendorong para pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan serta seluruh stakeholder sekolah untuk dapat memanfaatkan “Sistem Database Sekolah” ini. ***** This research is the work of innovation, which aims to use information technology based database systems in the administration of the school in 37 Bekasi of Public Junior High School, as well as producing the “Database System of School Administration”. The research began in November 2011 to January 2012 using the method of system development life cycle or the system development life cycle (SDLC), consist of: 1) the planning system, 2) system analyze, 3) design the system, 4) selection system, 5) implementation of system. Key informants in this research is the Head of State Junior High School 37 Bekasi, Head of School Administration, and Staff of School Administration. The result of this research can be concluded that in the prosessing and management of data and information, the school has not been able to utilize information technology. Data and information are stored in a storage shelves are placed in archival storage cabinets. So far the school has used the computer in school administration activity, it’s just a computer is only used as a tool for typing school paper. In the first step in the process of data management is carried out by the school is to collect data on all components of the existing the school must also provide their own data collection form in its implementation. The results obtained from this data collection process image data and information available in school, but the inability of the school to prepare, process and manage data and information that is a constrant in meeting the needs of data and information of school To solve the problem in the preparation, storage, management, and provision data of school, then development of manufacturing systems “Database System”. Database system is a program that can run on different operating system. Database system is useful in entering, processing, and return acces the required data and information easily, quickly and precisely. Implications of the Database System is the realization of effective and efficient of school administrative service that can meet the entire demand for data and information of existing schools and also help realize the vision and mission of the school in creating a competent human resources and quality. As efforts in promoting the management of data and information schools can be done by providing human resources capable of managing and processing the applications program can create data and information school “Database System of School”, provides data and information required in the v database, providing counseling to teachers and education about the using the computer in management data and information, and to encourage teachers and schools and all stakeholders to be able to utilize “Database System of School”.
