Abstract

The purpose of this research is to impropve the capability to write narrative essay students of grade III Elementary School through there is serial media images in SDN Pondok Ranggon 04 pagi, East Jakarta. This Classroom Action Research was conducted by using the method of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. This working procedure of Classroom Action Research in a single cycle or rotation consists of five components including planning, implementing, observing, reflecting and formulating new measures, to make a re-planning to the next cycle if the expected success criteria has not been achieved. The ability to write narrative essay based on the analysis of data obtained from each cycle has meant significant improvements in students ability in writing narrative essay which is better than before the action given. The actions taken by the researchers was by using a serial media image, while the results of each cycle as follows: cycle 1 the average value of the narrative essay writing skills is 62,8 cycle 2 it increased to 70 and cycle 3 it increased again to 77.1. The conclusion from this research is that by using media images, narrative essay writing skills of the third grade students in SDN Pondok Ranggon 04 Pagi East Jakarta can be increased.
