Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan resiliensi akademik dan optimisme dengan stres akademik pada peserta didik sekolah menengah atas tahun pertama di Boarding School. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasi berganda dan korelasi sederhana dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu 274 peserta didik kelas X di Husnul Khotimah Boarding School. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan incidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu Educational Stress Scale for Adolescent (ESSA), Life Orientation Test – Revised (LOT-R), dan The Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-24). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara resiliensi akademik dan optimisme dengan stres akademik pada peserta didik sekolah menengah atas tahun pertama di Husnul Khotimah Boarding School dengan koefisien korelasi didapatkan nilai koefisien korelasi (R) sebesar -0.162 dan nilai signifikansi 0.027 (p< 0.05). Hasil ini menandakan bahwa jika semakin tinggi resiliensi akademik dan optimisme yang dimiliki peserta didik, maka semakin rendah stress akademik yang dimiliki. Pada instrumen ESSA aspek tertinggi berada pada aspek pressure from study yang ditandai dengan banyaknya tuntutan, persaingan antar teman, dan khawatir terhadap studi lanjutan. Sedangkan untuk aspek terendah yaitu despondency ditandai dengan peserta didik cenderung cukup memiliki rasa percaya diri untuk mencapai target akademik. Selanjutnya pada instrumen ARS-24 aspek tertinggi berada pada perseverance yang ditandai dengan peserta didik cukup mampu menghadapi kesulitannya, berusaha keras mengerjakan tugas sekolah, dan mampu meningkatkan nilai akademiknya. Sedangkan untuk aspek terendah yaitu negative affect and emotional response, ditandai dengan peserta didik kurang mampu merespon emosi-emosi yang muncul. Pada instrumen LOT-R aspek tertinggi yaitu optimis ditandai dengan peserta didik cenderung menghadapkan hal-hal baik yang terjadi. Sedangkan aspek terendah yaitu pesimis ditandai dengan peserta didik cenderung pasrah jika hal buruk terjadi. ***** This study aims to analyze the relationship between academic resilience and optimism with academic stress in first year senior high school students at the Boarding School. This research uses multiple correlation method and simple correlation with quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were 274 students of class X at Husnul Khotimah Boarding School. Sampling using incidental sampling. The instruments used to collect data were the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescent (ESSA), Life Orientation Test – Revised (LOT-R), and The Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-24). The results showed that there was a relationship between academic resilience and optimism with academic stress in first year high school students at Husnul Khotimah Boarding School with the correlation coefficient, the correlation coefficient (R) was -0.162 and the significance value was 0.027 (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the higher the academic resilience and optimism of students, the lower the academic stress they have. In the ESSA instrument, the highest aspect is in the pressure from study aspect which is characterized by many demands, competition between friends, and worries about further studies. As for the lowest aspect, namely despondency, it is characterized by students tending to have enough self-confidence to achieve academic targets. Furthermore, on the ARS-24 instrument, the highest aspect is on perseverance which is characterized by students being quite able to face their difficulties, trying hard to do schoolwork, and being able to improve their academic scores. As for the lowest aspect, namely negative affect and emotional response, it is marked by students being less able to respond to the emotions that arise. In the LOT-R instrument, the highest aspect, namely optimism, is marked by students tending to confront the good things that happen. While the lowest aspect, namely pessimism, is characterized by students tending to surrender if bad things happen.
