Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan working memory capacity mahasiswa mahasiswa yang diberikan perlakuan dan yang tidak diberikan perlakuan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra eksperimental dengan uji non parametrik kruskal wallis untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 75 mahasiswa berusia 18-21 tahun yang terbagi menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen 1, kelompok eksperimen 2, dan kelompok kontrol. Perlakuan yang diberikan untuk memunculkan kondisi ego depletion adalah stroop task dengan stimulus incongruence pada kelompok eksperimen 1, dan stimulus congruence pada kelompok eksperimen 2. Pengukuran working memory capacity menggunakan corsi block test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan working memory capacity pada mahasiswa yang diberikan perlakuan stroop task incongruence, stroop task congruence dan yang tidak diberikan perlakuan stroop task. ***** This study aims to determine differences in student working memory capacity when experiencing ego depletion. The method used in this study used a pre�experimental method with a non-parametric Kruskal Wallis test to test the proposed hypothesis. The subjects of this study were 75 students aged 18-21 years which were divided into three groups, namely experimental group 1, experimental group 2, and control group. The treatment given to cause ego depletion was a Stroop task with stimulus incongruence in the experimental group 1, and stimulus congruence in the experimental group 2. Measurement of working memory capacity using the Corsi block test. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference in working memory capacity in students who are given stroop task incongruence treatment, stroop task congruence and those who are not given stroop task treatment.
