Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang dengan mengetahui jumlah dan penempatan EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) untuk jaringan backbone fiber optik di Kelurahan Pulogebang dengan menggunakan aplikasi simulasi optisystem, serta menganalisis dan memahami penggunaan EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) dalam memenuhi kebutuhan jaringan data di Kelurahan Pulogebang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Research and Development (R&D). Penelitian ini dilakukan di wilayah Kelurahan Pulogebang, Kecamatan Cakung, Kota Jakarta Timur, DKI Jakarta pada tanggal 4 Januari 2021 - 21 April 2021. Perancangan jaringan backbone fiber optik menggunakan EDFA di Kelurahan Pulogebang dilakukan perhitungan dan simulasi menggunakan Optysistem dengan parameter kinerja sebelum dan sesudah penambahan EDFA. Sebelum menggunakan EDFA berbagai parameter kinerja belum memenuhi standar, namun setelah pengaplikasian EDFA, parameter kinerja sudah memenuhi standar. Setelah melakukan perhitungan dan simulasi, dibutuhkan 1 set EDFA dengan jangkauan maksimal 57,2 km. Ini berarti sudah mampu memenuhi kebutuhan jaringan fiber optik Kelurahan Pulogebang berdasar data jarak transmisi. Dalam perancangan ini juga membutuhkan EDFA untuk memenuhi standar kinerja. ***** The purpose of this study was to design by knowing the number and placement of EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) for fiber optic backbone networks in Pulogebang Village using the optisystem simulation application, as well as analyze and understand the use of EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) in meeting the needs of data networks in Pulogebang Village. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) research method. This research was conducted in the Pulogebang Village area, Cakung District, East Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta on January 4 2021 - April 21 2021. The design of a fiber optic backbone network using EDFA in Pulogebang Village is calculated and simulated using Optysystem with performance parameters before and after adding EDFA. Before using EDFA, various performance parameters did not meet the standards, but after the application of EDFA, the performance parameters met the standards. After doing calculations and simulations, 1 set of EDFA is needed with a maximum range of 57.2 km. This means that it has been able to meet the needs of the Pulogebang Village fiber optic network based on transmission distance data. In this design also requires EDFA to meet performance standards
