Abstract

Vindya Mayralda. Sejarah Perkembangan Gereja Katolik Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang (1948-2015). Skripsi. Jakarta. Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Perkembangan Gereja Katolik Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang pada tahun 1948-2015. Periode awal penelitian ini merupakan sejarah awalnya terbentuk Gereja Katolik Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang dengan dilakukannya baptisan pertama atas nama Erick van Ameron seorang warga Belanda pada tanggal 23 Mei 1948 oleh Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ. Sedangkan titik akhir penelitian ini adalah pada tahun 2015 dengan alasan, pada tahun tersebut gereja Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang melakukan pelayanan dalam bidang kesehatan yang menyelenggarakan pemeriksaan kesehatan gratis bagi warga sekitar paroki dan warga yang berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tersebut dihadiri lebih dari 100 orang. Kegiatan ini terwujud sebagai salah satu aksi nyata umat dalam Kerahiman Allah. Pelayanan yang dilakukan gereja ini berdampak positif bagi umat gereja dan juga masyarakat sekitar Kota Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian historis dengan metode deskriptif naratif yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu: heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini sebagai berikut: (1) Ketika Jepang menguasai Indonesia pada tahun 1942, Tangerang tidak mendapatkan pelayanan sampai dengan tahun 1948. Kemudian diutus Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ untuk berkarya di Tangerang pada tahun 1948 oleh Mgr. Petrus Willekens, Vikariat Apostolik Batavia. Pada tahun tersebut juga dilakukan baptisan awal atas nama Erick van Ameron seorang warga Belanda. Baptisan tersebut adalah buah pertama dari karya reksa pastoral Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ. (2) Dalam perkembangannya Gereja Katolik Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang banyak melakukan pelayanan bagi umat gereja dan juga masyarakat sekitar Kota Tangerang. Gereja yang awalnya dibangun dari bangunan sekolah kemudian berkembang menjadi paroki dan melakukan pemekaran dengan dibangunnya stasi-stasi dibeberapa wilayah Kota Tangerang dan juga dilakukan pemekaran dengan dibangunnya paroki baru. Meskipun terdapat hambatan dan kendala dalam pembangunan dan pelayanan gereja baik dari internal maupun eksternal gereja, namun hambatan tersebut dapat dilalui gereja bersama dengan para umat. Dampak pelayanan yang dilakukan Gereja Katolik Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang dapat dilihat dari segi aspek ekonomi, sosial, pendidikan dan lainnya. This study aims to describe the development of the Catholic Church of the Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang from 1948-2015. The initial period of this research is the early history of the formation of the Catholic Church of the Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang, with the first baptism in the name of Erick van Ameron, a Dutch citizen, on May 23, 1948, by Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ. At the same time, the endpoint of this research was in 2015 for the reason that in that year the Catholic Church of the Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang carried out services in the health sector which held free health checks for residents around the parish and the residents who participated in the activity were attended by more than 100 people. This activity was realized as one of the real actions of the people in God's Mercy. The services carried out by this church have a positive impact on church members and also the community around Tangerang City. The method used is the historical research method with a descriptive narrative method which consists of four stages: heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study are as follows: (1) When the Japanese controlled Indonesia in 1942, Tangerang did not receive service until 1948. Then Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ, was sent to work in Tangerang in 1948 by Mgr. Petrus Willekens, Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia. That year, an early baptism was also carried out in the name of Erick van Ameron, a Dutch citizen. The baptism was the first fruit of Pastor Jacobus van Leengoed, SJ. (2) In its development, Catholic Church of the Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang has provided many services for church people and the community around Tangerang City. The church, originally built from a school building, then developed into a parish and expanded by building stations in several areas of Tangerang City and expanded by building new parishes. Even though there are obstacles and obstacles in the development and ministry of the church, both internal and external to the church, these obstacles can be overcome by the church together with the congregation. The impact of the services carried out by the Catholic Church of the Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Tangerang can be seen in terms of economic, social, educational and other aspects. .
