Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui hasil penilaian tote bag berbahan dasar plastik polyethylene yang akan dilakukan berdasarkan penilaian estetika oleh 5 panelis ahli. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian eksperimen one shot case study, dengan menggunakan skala rating scale. Tas yang dibuat ada 5 produk tas. Instrumen penilaian estetika meliputi: aspek wujud atau rupa, aspek bobot atau isi, dan aspek penampilan. Hasil penilaian estetika pada penelitian ini yaitu wujud atau rupa 6,89, bobot atau isi 7,32, dan Penampilan 7,00. Nilai tertinggi diperoleh pada produk 1 dengan nilai 7,29, menurut panelis produk tersebut yang paling sesuai dengan penilaian aspek wujud atau rupa, bobot atau isi, dan penampilan atau penyajian. Nilai terendah diperoleh pada produk 4 dan 5 dengan nilai 6,76 yaitu cukup estetik, menurut panelis produk 4 dan 5 memiliki proporsi motif yang kurang seimbang untuk penempatannya pada tote bag, sehingga masih perlu di eksplor kembali. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil eksperimen tote bag berbahan dasar plastik polyethylene cukup estetik dan layak digunakan sebagai trend tas. **** The purpose of this study is to find out the results of the assessment of tote bags made from polyethylene plastic which will be carried out based on an aesthetic assessment by 5 expert panelists. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a one shot case study experimental research design, using a scale rating scale. There are 5 bag products made. The aesthetic assessment instruments include: form or form aspects, weight or content aspects, and appearance aspects. The results of the aesthetic assessment in this study were form or form 6.89, weight or content 7.32, and appearance 7.00. According to the panelists, the highest score was obtained for product 1 with a value of 7.29 according to the evaluation of the aspects of shape or form, weight or content, and appearance or presentation. The lowest score was obtained for products 4 and 5 with a value of 6.76 which is quite aesthetic, according to the panelists, products 4 and 5 have an unbalanced proportion of motifs for their placement in tote bags, so they still need further exploration. From these results it can be interpreted that the experimental results of tote bags made from polyethylene plastic are quite aesthetic and suitable for use as trend bags.
