Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on Smartphone Zombie (Smombie) behaviour among college students. Research method used in this study is quantitative with simple regression analysis. Smartphone Zombie (Smombie) behaviour measured by adapting The Smombie Scale which was constructed by Park & Kim (2021). While Fear of Missing Out measured by adapting C-FoMO Scale which was constructed by Hato (2013). The participants in this study were 220 college students aged 18-25 years old in Indonesia. Sample was obtained by accidental sampling technique. The result of this study proves that there is significant effect of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on Smartphone Zombie (Smombie) behaviour among college students is 35,5%.
