Abstract

Academics and teachers are being compelled to adopt the widely used, quickly consumable, and ubiquitous learning idea known as "Microlearning" by the requirement to continuously be connected to the rapidly changing outside world. The purpose of this study is to analyzed the used of microlearning in vocational high schools’ English learning materials and develop the microlearning-based deconstruction procedure for learning materials based on the 2013 Curriculum as well as describe the deconstructed learning object materials. Qualitative study is conducted through content analysis method in analyzing 15 vocational high school English learning materials in Jakarta with various types of materials including e-module, webpage, PPT, and YouTube videos. The approach and the method are also used to deconstruct learning materials based on the curriculum basic competencies into microlearning-based learning object materials. The findings of this study shows that the existing learning materials do not fulfill microlearning-based criterias. Moreover, deconstruction procedure to include 33 basic competencies into skills, structural elements, and instructional methods results in total of 313 microlearning-based learning object materials in form of audio/podcast, PPT, videos, worksheet, step-by-step checklist, quizzes, E-Book, short HTML pages, flash cards, flipped book, learner generated blogposts, and infographics. Overall, the deconstruction of learning materials based on the current curriculum into suitable microlearning-based learning object resources for use by teachers in class is advised due to the lack of microlearning-based English learning materials in vocational high schools. ***** Akademisi dan guru dipaksa untuk mengadopsi ide pembelajaran yang banyak digunakan, dapat dikonsumsi dengan cepat, dan ada di mana-mana yang dikenal sebagai "Microlearning" dengan persyaratan untuk terus terhubung dengan dunia luar yang berubah dengan cepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penggunaan microlearning dalam materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris SMK yang ada dan mengembangkan prosedur dekonstruksi berbasis microlearning untuk materi pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 serta mendeskripsikan materi objek pembelajaran yang didekonstruksi. Pendekatan studi kualitatif dilakukan melalui metode analisis isi dalam menganalisis 15 materi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris SMK di Jakarta dengan berbagai jenis materi termasuk e-modul, halaman web, PPT, dan video YouTube. Pendekatan dan metode tersebut juga digunakan untuk mendekonstruksi materi pembelajaran berdasarkan kompetensi dasar kurikulum menjadi materi objek pembelajaran berbasis microlearning. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang ada belum memenuhi kriteria berbasis microlearning. Selain itu, prosedur dekonstruksi untuk membagi 33 kompetensi dasar ke dalam keterampilan, elemen struktur, dan metode instruksional menghasilkan total 313 materi objek pembelajaran berbasis microlearning dalam bentuk audio/podcast, PPT, video, lembar kerja, daftar periksa, kuis, E-Book, halaman HTML pendek, kartu kecil, buku bergerak, blog, dan infografis. Secara keseluruhan, dekonstruksi materi pembelajaran berdasarkan kurikulum saat ini menjadi sumber objek pembelajaran berbasis microlearning yang layak untuk digunakan oleh guru di kelas disarankan karena kurangnya bahan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis microlearning di sekolah menengah kejuruan.
