Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana manajemen perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan minat baca peserta didik pada masa pandemi di SMA Negeri 4 Kota Tangerang Selatan. Sub fokus penelitian ini adalah perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelayanan, dan pengendalian perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif sehingga pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi dengan narasumber dalam penelitian ini meliputi: kepala perpustakaan dan administrator perpustakaan sebagai narasumber utama, serta wakil kepala sekolah bidang sarana prasarana, bendahara tata usaha sekolah, guru, dan peserta didik sebagai narasumber pendukung. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) dalam perencanaan perpustakaan sekolah yang dilakukan oleh kepala perpustakaan atas persetujuan kepala sekolah, perpustakaan sekolah memiliki program jangka panjang dan jangka pendek, di antaranya terkait meningkatkan minat baca murid, guru, dan staf tata laksana; 2) pengorganisasian perpustakaan dilakukan dengan pembagian tugas antara kepala perpustakaan dan administrator perpustakaan di mana kepala perpustakaan cenderung bekerja dalam bidang perencanaan, inventarisasi, dan pelaporan, pelayanan. Namun keduanya tetap saling membantu satu sama lain dalam tugas-tugas berat seperti saat pembagian buku paket serta saling mengisi dalam proses pelayanan, pemeliharaan, dan penyimpanan. Sementara itu, koleksi disimpan sesuai Dewey Decimal Clasification (DDC); 3) Berdasarkan pelayanan yang diberikan, peran perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan minat baca masih berupa pelayanan langsung atau tatap muka; 4) Pengendalian perpustakaan dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah bidang sarana prasarana secara langsung serta pelaporan oleh kepala perpustakaan terkait anggaran dan kondisi sarana prasarana perpustakaan. This study aims to find out and describe how library management increased students' interest in reading during a pandemic at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Tangerang Selatan. The sub focus of this research is planning, organizing, servicing, and controlling the library. This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive method so that data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation studies with informants in this study including: the head of the library and library administrators as the main informants, as well as the deputy head of school for infrastructure, treasurer of school administration, teachers, and students as supporting sources. The results of this study indicate that: 1) In planning the school library which is carried out by the head of the library with the approval of the school principal, the school library has long-term and short-term programs, including those related to increasing students', teachers' and management staff's interest in reading; 2) the organization of the library is carried out by dividing the tasks between the head of the library and the library administrator where the head of the library tends to work in the areas of planning, inventory and reporting, services. But both of them still help each other in heavy tasks such as when distributing package books and filling each other in the process of service, maintenance and storage. Meanwhile, collections are stored according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC); 3) Based on the services provided, the role of the library in increasing reading interest is still in the form of direct or face-to-face services; 4) Library control is carried out by the school principal and deputy principal in the infrastructure sector directly and reporting by the head of the library regarding the budget and condition of library infrastructure facilities.
