Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keselarasan fungsi bahasa pada teks transaksional dalam video percakapan animasi berdasarkan kompetensi dasar pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kurikulum 2013 untuk pengajaran teks transaksional pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode konten analisis. Data penelitian ini adalah ekspresi dalam video percakapan animasi dari YouTube di saluran Easy English dan saluran English Speaking Course. Instrumen analisis penelitian ini mengacu pada KI (Kompetensi Inti) dan KD (Kompetensi Dasar) dalam Kurikulum 2013 dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan tahun 2018 dan Suggested Components of Actional Competence & Strategic Competence in Transactional Communication oleh Celce-Murcia, Dornyei & Thurrell tahun 1995 untuk untuk menganalisis fungsi kebahasaan dan ungkapan dalam teks transaksional yang digunakan dalam 40 video percakapan animasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa 40 video percakapan animasi yang didapatkan dari sumber YouTube Easy English dan English Speaking Course memenuhi standar kompetensi topik teks Transaksional pada tingkatan Sekolah Menengah Pertama. 16 dari total 21 fungsi kebahasaan teks transaksional ditemukan pada 20 video percakapan animasi oleh sumber YouTube Easy English dan 15 dari total 21 fungsi kebahasaan teks transaksional ditemukan pada 20 video percakapan animasi oleh sumber YouTube English Speaking Course. Fungsi kebahasaan teks transaksional yang terdapat pada semua video percakapan animasi tersebut mencakup Perkenalan, Mengidentifikasi Seseorang, Menanyakan Informasi dan Memberikan Informasi, Menjelaskan dan Menceritakan, Menanyakan Pendapat dan Mengungkapkan Pendapat, Memberi Nasihat dan Menanggapi Nasihat, dsb. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa video percakapan animasi yang terpilih mencakup hampir semua fungsi kebahasaan yang dibutuhkan untuk pengajaran topik teks transaksional untuk siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penelitian ini memerlukan tindakan nyata untuk menguji apakah video percakapan animasi ini dapat berfungsi dengan efektif di kelas sesungguhnya. ***** This study aims to analyze the alignment of the transactional text language functions that occurred in animation video conversations with the standard competence of the 2013 curriculum to teach transactional texts to junior high school students. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using the content analysis method. The data of this study were the expressions in the animation video conversations from YouTube on the Easy English channel and English Speaking Course channel. The analysis framework of this study was based on an adapted version of KI (Kompetensi Inti) & KD (Kompetensi Dasar) in Kurikulum 2013 from the Indonesian Ministry of Education & Culture (2018) and the Suggested Components of Actional Competence & Strategic Competence in Transactional Communication by Celce-Murcia, Dornyei & Thurrell (1995) to analyze the type of language function and expressions of transactional texts used in the 40 animation video conversations. The result of this study revealed that 40 animation video conversations found on the Easy English and the English Speaking Course YouTube channels fulfilled the standard competences of Transactional texts at Junior High School level. 16 out of 21 language functions of transactional text were found on 20 animation video conversations by the Easy English channel and 15 out of 21 language functions of transactional text were found on 20 animation video conversations by the English Speaking Course channel. The language functions of transactional text occurred in all animation video conversations, covering Making Introductions, Identifying Oneself, Asking for Information and Giving Information, Describing and Narrating, Asking Opinion and Expressing Opinion, Advising and Responding to Advice and so on. It means the 40 chosen animation video conversations accomplished almost all of the language functions needed to be taught on topic Transactional texts for Junior High School students. This study requires action research in the classroom to examine whether these animation video conversations can really work and be effective in actual classroom settings.
