Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keadaan keterbatasan ruang yang dialami perempuan pemulung TPST Bantargebang dan dampaknya terhadap kualitas hidup mereka. Indikator kualitas hidup dalam penelitian ini adalah aspek-aspek keterbatasan ruang dan teori Good City Form. dengan mengamati pelaksanaan peran gender perempuan pemulung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan dilengkapi wawancara mendalam dan studi literatur. Informan kunci dari penelitian ini adalah Ketua Dewan Pembina Ikatan Pemulung Indonesia (IPI) Pusat dan koordinator permukiman pemulung di Jalan Jalak Bali 3, RT 04 RW 03, Kelurahan Sumurbatu, Kota Bekasi. Adapun informan pendukung dalam penelitian ini adalah perempuan pemulung. Teknik analisis menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan lalu dilakukan pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan pemulung 1) menghabiskan hampir seluruh waktunya di lingkungan hunian 2) menghadapi kepadatan spasial hunian di tingkat esktrem yang menyebabkan pekerjaan rumah tangganya terhambat atau membutuhkan waktu lebih lama untuk diselesaikan 3) hampir tidak pernah pergi keluar lingkungan TPST Bantargebang untuk kebutuhan rekreasi kecuali untuk membeli kebutuhan sehari-hari 4) tidak memiliki waktu untuk berinteraksi dengan tetangga atau orang lain di lingkup hunian akibat pekerjaan produktif dan reproduktif kecuali pada saat waktu istirahat di puncak gunung sampah TPST Bantargebang. This study aims to analyze the limited space experienced by Bantargebang scavenger women and its impact on their quality of life. The life quality indicator in this study is the aspects of space limitation and Good City Form theory by observing the implementation of the gender role of women scavengers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method equipped with in-depth interviews and literature studies. The key informants of this study were the Chairperson of the Central Indonesian Scavengers Association (IPI) Board of Trustees and the coordinator of the scavenger settlement at Jalan Jalak Bali 3, RT 04 RW 05, Ciketing Udik Ward. The supporting informants in this study were the female scavengers. The analysis technique uses the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and then checks the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The conclusion that can be drawn in this study is that female scavengers 1) spend most of their time in the neighborhood 2) never have the chance to go out from their home for leisure activities except for work or buying groceries 3) face an extreme space limitation that made their productive and reproductive roles take longer time to be done 4) do not have time to interact with the neighbors or fellow scavengers except during the break time at the top of dump area in the midst of their work time.
