Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat kondisi dinamis antara pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap motivasi penyelesaian skripsi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Jakarta Angkatan 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey atau angket. Dua variabel yang menjadi fokus pada penelitian ini adalah Dukungan Sosial (X) dan Motivasi Penyelesaian Skripsi (Y). Penggarapan skripsi ini dimulai dari akhir bulan Desember 2022 – Juli 2023. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah quota sampling yang penarikannya menggunakan accidental sampling. Jumlah sampel yang didapatkan melalui rumus slovin dengan toleransi kesalahan 5% sebanyak 214. Untuk uji validitas, peneliti menggunakan 41 item untuk variabel X dan 30 item dari variabel Y. Peneliti menggunakan Google Form, Microsoft Excel, dan IBM SPSS 25 untuk pengolahan dan pengambilan datanya. Hasil uji menyatakan semua item valid dan reliabel. Setelah itu, peneliti melakukan method of uccessive interval untuk transformasi data ordinal ke interval. Kemudian data penelitian juga lolos uji normalitas, linearitas, dan homogenitas. Selanjutnya, peneliti melakukan uji hipotesis dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Didapatkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang artinya variabel X dukungan sosial memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel Y motivasi penyelesaian skripsi. Besar pengaruh variabel X terhadap variabel Y adalah 42,8%. Dengan demikian Ha pada penelitian ini dapat diterima. Ditemukan pula bahwa tingkat dukungan sosial mahasiswa FIS UNJ angkatan 2019 berada dalam kategori baik dan motivasi penyelesaian skripsi mahasiswa FIS UNJ angkatan 2019 berada dalam kategori baik pula. Dari lima dimensi dukungan sosial, dukungan informasi menjadi bentuk dukungan yang paling berpengaruh terhadap motivasi. Sedangkan motivasi ekstrinsik menjadi jenis motivasi yang paling dominan dan berperan sebagai tenaga pendorong dan menjaga semangat dalam menyelesaikan skripsi. This study aims to examine whether there is a dynamic relationship between the influence of social support and thesis completion motivation among students from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Class of 2019.This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey or questionnaire method. The two variables focused on in this study are Social Support (X) and Thesis Completion Motivation (Y). The process of working on this thesis began from the end of December 2022 to July 2023. The sampling technique used is quota and accidental sampling. The sample size obtained through the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 5% is 214. For validity testing, the researcher used 41 items for variable X and 30 items for variable Y. The researcher utilized Google Form, Microsoft Excel, and IBM SPSS 25 for data processing and collection. The test results indicated that all items are valid and reliable. Subsequently, the researcher employed the method of successive interval for transforming ordinal data into interval data. The research data also passed the tests for normality, linearity, and homogeneity. Next, the researcher conducted hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis. A significance value of 0.000 was obtained, indicating that the variable X, social support, has an influence on the variable Y, thesis completion motivation. The magnitude of the influence of variable X on variable Y is approximately 42.8%. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) in this study is accepted. It was also found that the level of social support among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Class of 2019, falls within the good category, as is the motivation for thesis completion. Among the five dimensions of social support, information support emerged as the most influential form of support on motivation. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation is the dominant type of motivation and plays a role as a driving force and source of inspiration in completing the thesis.
