Abstract
ABSTRAK Isu yang sedang berkembang atas konsekuensi negatif dari globalisasi saat ini adalah degradasi moral pada generasi muda. Perkembangan teknologi juga ikut andil dalam penyimpangan karakter kejujuran akademik (“academic misconduct”). Oleh sebab itu saat ini pendidikan karakter urgen untuk dilakukan termasuk di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. Ini dapat dilakukan dengan mengintegrasikan pada berbagai mata kuliah. Integrasi pendidikan karakter ke dalam mata kuliah sastra dapat dilakukan dengan cara memasukkan pendidikan karakter tersebut di dalam kegiatan proses pembelajaran dan pada materi ajar. Lickona (2013) memperkenalkan komponen nilai karakter di antaranya pengetahuan moral (moral knowing), perasaan (moral feeling), dan perbuatan (moral action), ketiga komponen ini dapat ditemukan dalam sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar kajian puisi berbasis pendidikan karakter. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Penelitian Pengembangan dilakukan dilakukan menggunakan langkah-langkah penelitian dan pengembangan model (Gall et al., 2003). Dua data, kualitatif dan kuantitatif, dalam penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, kuesioner, dan tes. Untuk melihat efektifitas bahan ajar digunakan penghitungan menggunakan One-Group PreTest-PostTest Design. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa: 1) bahan ajar dikembangkan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan mahasiswa dan dosen, 2) produk bahan ajar dikembangan dengan mengadaptasi rancangan bahan ajar dengan mengadaptasi model Hutshinson & Waters (1988) dengan empat unsur utama dalam setiap unit dalam bahan ajar; input, inti, fokus kebahasaan, dan latihan/tugas, 3) hasil penghitungan pada keempat komponen bahan ajar memberikan nilai rata-rata sebesar 4,5 yang menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap bahan ajar kajian puisi berbasis pendidikan karakter berada pada kategori ‘Sangat Baik’, dan 5) hasil pengujian menggunakan paired sample t-test didapatkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar kajian puisi berbasis pendidikan karakter yang diberikan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengkaji puisi berdasarkan struktur fisik, batin, dan nilai-nilai karakter. Pendidikan karakter dilakukan terintegrasi pada tahapan pendahuluan, inti, dan penutup pembelajaran. Technological developments also contribute to the deviation of the character of academic honesty ("academic misconduct"). Therefore, currently character education is urgent to be carried out, including in the higher education environment. This can be done by integrating in various courses. Integration of character education into literature courses can be done by incorporating character education into the learning process and teaching materials. Lickona (2013) introduced components of character values including moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action, these three components can be found in literature. This study aims to develop teaching materials for poetry studies based on character education. The method used is research and development (research and development). This study of development is carried out according to the steps of the research and development model (Gall, Gall, and Borg 2003). Two data, qualitative and quantitative, in this study were obtained through observation, questionnaires and tests. To see the effectiveness of teaching materials used calculations using One-Group PreTest-PostTest Design. Based on the results of data analysis it was found that: 1) teaching materials were developed based on an analysis of the needs of students and lecturers, 2) the product of teaching materials were developed by adapting the design of teaching materials by adapting the Hutshinson & Waters (1988) model with four main elements in each unit in teaching materials; input, core, linguistic focus, and exercises/tasks, 3) the results of calculations on the four components of teaching materials give an average value of 4.5 which indicates that students' perceptions of character education-based poetry study materials are in the ‘Excellent' category , and 5) the results of testing using the paired sample t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that the use of teaching materials for poetry study based on character education is able to improve students' ability to study poetry based on physical structure, mentality, and character values. Character education is carried out integrated in the preliminary, core, and closing stages of learning. Keywords: Development of Teaching Materials, Study of Poetry, Character Education
