Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara dengan penduduk muslim terbanyak di dunia serta memiliki organisasi yang sudah berdiri sejak tahun 1926 yaitu (1) Nahdlatul Ulama dengan pengikut terbanyak dan merupakan organisasi terbesar di Indonesia. Awal berdirinya Nahdlatul Ulama adalah sebagai organisasi masyarakat namun pada tahun 1952 NU berubah menjadi (2) partai politik yang ikut mewarnai panggung politik Indonesia masa demokrasi liberal, pada masa itu Nahdlatul Ulama mempunyai tokoh hebat, seorang politikus muda berbakat juga seorang putera pendiri Nahdlatul Ulama yaitu (3) KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim. Berkat strateginya dengan mengobarkan semangat kemerdekaan melalui majalah dan membentuk anggota yang giat berorasi di corong radio dan rapat umum. Pada penelitian akan menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah dengan tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana latar belakang KH A Wahid Hasyim dan kiprahnya dalam politik Indonesia, khususnya dalam perkembangan Nahdlatul Ulama. Hasil penilitian adalah KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim mampu membangun partai NU untuk bersaing dengan partai besar lainnya. Ia mampu memberikan lowongan pekerjaan yang besar bagi masyarakat untuk menempati posisi yang diperlukan dalam partai, disamping itu ia juga mampu meluruskan isu yang beredar di masyarakat luas mengenai keterpisahan Nahdlatul Ulama dari partai Masyumi. KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim seorang putra Kyai yang membawa Nahdlatul Ulama melewati masa transisi menjadi partai politik yang bisa bersaing dengan partai besar lain. ***** Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world and has an organization that has been established since 1926, namely (1) Nahdlatul Ulama with the most followers and is the largest organization in Indonesia. The early establishment of Nahdlatul Ulama was as a community organization but in 1952 NU turned into (2) political parties which also colored the Indonesian political stage during the liberal democratic period, at that time Nahdlatul Ulama had a great figure, a talented young politician who was also the son of the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama, namely (3) KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim. Thanks to his strategy by inflaming the spirit of independence through magazines and forming active members giving speeches on radio and public meetings. This research will use historical research methods with the aim of research to find out the background of KH A Wahid Hasyim and his work in Indonesian politics, especially in the development of Nahdlatul Ulama. The results of the research are that KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim was able to build the NU party to compete with other major parties. He was able to provide large job vacancies for the community to occupy the required positions in the party, besides that he was also able to rectify the issue circulating in the wider community regarding the separation of Nahdlatul Ulama from the Masyumi party. KH Abdul Wahid Hasyim, a Kyai's son, brought Nahdlatul Ulama through a transitional period to become a political party that could compete with other major parties.
