Abstract

Students need the ability of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to solve environmental problems. Besidescognitive abilities, students also need to apply them in the form of pro-environmental behavior (PEB). The purpose of this research wasto develop an Android-based Supplementary Book of Green Consumerism (SBGC) product for junior high school students. The research method used wasresearch and development based onBorg and Gall. The experts involved were 3 media experts, 3teachingmaterial experts, and 3 Biology teachers. The product trial results showed that the SBGC hada very valid category and wassuitable for usein learning. The results of effectiveness tests that have been done showedthat the SBGC waseffective in increasing HOTS and wassignificantly different from the control class. Meanwhile for pro-environmental behavior, it has increased but not significantly different from the control class. This wasbecause cognitive changes in students can occur with a relatively faster time. Meanwhile, changing behavior requires more time. The conclusion of this study wasthat the SBGC suitableand effective in increasing HOTS and PEB for junior high school students, however PEB is not significantly different from the control class.
