Abstract

Fenomena pengelolaan sampah yangterjadi di lingkungan kelurahan Jatiluhur belum optimal, karena belum adanya TPS sehingga banyak masyarakat yang membuang ataupun membakar sampahnya di lahan kosong. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengetahuan pengelolaan sampah pada masyarakat di Keluharan Jatiluhur, Kecamatan Jatiasih, Kota Bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah warga Kelurahan Jatiluhur sebanyak 32.788 jiwa. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Propotional Random Sampling sebanyak 100 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara dengan angket. Analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif prosentase. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas masyarakat berpendidikan formal terakhir pada jenjang SMA/sederajat. Pengetahuan pengelolaan sampah masyarakat Kelurahan Jatiluhur berada pada kategori sedang dengan rincian pengetahuan tentang sampah dalam kategori tinggi, dan pengetahuan tentang pengurangan dan penanganan sampah dalam kategori sedang. Dari hasil analisis ditemukan adanya hubungan antara pendidikan formal yang ditempuh dengan pengetahuan pengelolaan sampah dimana mayoritas dari pendidikan jenjang SD dan SMP/sederajat berpengetahuan dalam kategori sedang, lalu mayoritas pendidikan pada jenjang SMA/sederajat, diploma, dan sarjana memiliki pengetahuan dalam kategori tinggi. ***** The phenomenon of waste management that occurs in the Jatiluhur sub-district environment is not yet optimal, because there is no TPS so that many people dispose of or burn their waste on vacant land. This study aims to analyze the knowledge of waste management in the community in Kelurahan Jatiluhur, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study were residents of the Jatiluhur Village with a total of 32,788 people. The sampling technique in this study was carried out using the Proportional Random Sampling method of 100 respondents. Data collection techniques using observation and interviews with questionnaires. Data analysis using percentage descriptive technique. The results of the research findings indicate that the majority of people with the last formal education are at the senior high school level. Knowledge of community waste management in Jatiluhur Village is in the medium category with detailed knowledge about waste in the high category, and knowledge about waste reduction and handling in the medium category. From the results of the analysis, it was found that there was a relationship between formal education attained and knowledge of waste management where the majority of elementary and junior high school education had moderate knowledge, then the majority of education at the high school, diploma and scholar levels had knowledge in the high category.
