Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan karena melihat lulusan pendidikan terutama untuk Pendidikan IPS bekerja tidak searah dengan jurusan dan belum mampu dalam menentukan arah karirnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : 1) Mengetahui locus of control pada kematangan karir alumni Prodi Pendidikan IPS Universitas Negeri Jakarta Angkatan 2016, 2) Mengetahui faktor terjadinya locus of control pada kematangan karir alumni Prodi Pendidikan IPS Universitas Negeri Jakarta Angkatan 2016. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Subjek penelitian adalah Ketua Angkatan Pendidikan IPS 2016, rekan terdekat alumni di tempat kerja, serta alumni yang bekerja sebagai guru dan di luar bidang pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alumni yang memiliki internal locus of control lebih dominan sudah mampu memahami dirinya dan menggunakan keputusannya dalam tahap perkembangan karir sehingga dapat mencapai target karirnya secara konsisten. Sementara itu, external locus of control pada alumni membuatnya merasa tidak sesuai dengan jurusan kuliah dan memilih pekerjaan di luar bidang pendidikannya, serta belum dapat menggunakan keputusannya dengan tepat. Faktor yang mempengaruhi sikap locus of control, yakni keluarga, motivasi dan pelatihan, tetapi faktor yang dianggap sangat penting adalah motivasi. Kata Kunci: Locus of control; Kematangan Karir, Alumni This research was conducted because it saw that graduates of education, especially for Social Sciences Education, work not in the same direction as the majors and have not been able to determine their career direction. The aims of this study were: 1) To find out the locus of control on the career maturity of alumni of the Social Sciences Education Study Program, Jakarta State University, Class of 2016, 2) To find out the factors that cause locus of control on the career maturity of alumni of the Social Sciences Education Study Program, Jakarta State University, Class of 2016. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach and data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The research subjects were the Chairperson of Social Sciences Batch 2016, alumni's closest co-workers, and alumni who work as teachers and outside the field of education. The results of the study show that alumni who have a more dominant internal locus of control are able to understand themselves and use their decisions in the career development stage so that they can achieve their career targets consistently. Meanwhile, the alumni's external locus of control makes them feel that they are not in accordance with their college majors and choose jobs outside their education field, and are unable to use their decisions appropriately. Factors that influence locus of control attitudes, namely family, motivation and training, but the factor that is considered very important is motivation.
