Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya Mohammad Natsir memperjuangkan islam sebagai dasar negara dan dampak terhadap Mohammad Natsir atas upayanya memperjuangkan islam sebagai dasar negara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis atau metode penelitian sejarah dengan pendekatan deskriptif naratif. Metode penelitian sejarah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain pemilihan topik, heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka atau menghimpun data dari buku-buku sezaman dan beberapa sumber lain. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan upaya yang dilakukan Mohammad Natsir dalam memperjuangkan islam sebagai dasar negara dilakukan dengan dua cara yaitu menolak pemisahan agama dan negara melalui tulisannya diberbagai artikel tahun 1940 dan mendorong islam sebagai dasar negara dalam pembahasan di Konstituante melalui pidato pada tanggal 13 November 1957. Dikarenakan memperjuangkan islam sebagai dasar negara nantinya timbul perubahan sikap pada Mohammad Natsir dalam menyikapi Pancasila. Hal itu disebabkan adanya penafsiran-penafsiran secara sekuler terhadap Pancasila yang melepaskan Pancasila dari nilai-nilai agama yang disampaikan oleh beberapa tokoh nasionalis. Oleh karena itu Natsir kemudian menganggap Pancasila sebagai suatu prinsip yang sekuler yang bertentangan dengan ajaran agama terutama Islam sehingga berubah menolaknya. This study aims to determine the efforts of Mohammad Natsir to fight for Islam as the basis of the state and the impact on Mohammad Natsir for his efforts to fight for Islam as the basis of the state. The method used in this research is the historical method or historical research method with a narrative descriptive approach. historical research methods used in this study include topic selection, heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Data collection is done by literature study or collecting data from contemporary books and several other sources. The results of this study show that the efforts made by Mohammad Natsir in fighting for Islam as the basis of the state were carried out in two ways, namely rejecting the separation of religion and state through his writings in various articles and promoting Islam as the basis of the state in the discussion below Constituent Assembly through a speech on November 13, 1957. Due to fighting for Islam as the basis of the state, a change in attitude will arise in Mohammad Natsir in addressing Pancasila. This was due to the existence of secular interpretations of Pancasila by several nasionalist figures.
