Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peer-led problem-based learning terhadap pemahaman konseptual siswa tentang larutan penyangga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimental non-equivalent pre-test/post-test control group design. Tujuh puluh dua siswa kelas 11 di SMAN 10 Kota Bekasi berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Dari total sampel, 36 siswa dalam kelas eksperimen diajar menggunakan peer-led problem-based learning dan kelas kontrol diajar menggunakan pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei hingga Juni 2023. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pre-test dan post-test sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t (paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa di kelas eksperimen memiliki pemahaman konseptual yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan siswa di kelas kontrol. Perhitungan statistik mengungkapkan bahwa skor rata-rata tes pascakonseptual (M=87,93; SD=6,27) secara statistik lebih tinggi daripada skor tes prakonseptual (rata-rata 69,52; SD 6,83). Perlakuan di kelas eksperimen memiliki dampak yang lebih besar dengan nilai Cohen’s d sebesar 1,82 dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 1,46. Sebagai hasilnya, peer-led problem-based memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman konseptual siswa pda topik larutan penyangga. ****** This study aims to determine the effect of peer-led problem-based learning on students’ conceptual understanding of larutan penyangga solutions. This type of research was a quasi-experimental non-equivalent pre-test/post-test control group design. Seventy two grade 11 students at SMAN 10 Kota Bekasi participated in this study. From the total sample, 36 students in the experimental class were taught using peer-led problem-based learning and the control class was taught using a scientific approach. This research was conducted from May to June 2023. Data collection techniques were in the form of pre-test and post-test while data analysis techniques used t-tests (paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test). The results showed that students in the experimental class had greater conceptual understanding than students in the control class. Statistical calculation revealed that the mean postconceptual test score (M=87.93; SD=6.27) was statistically higher than the preconceptual test score (mean 69.52; SD 6.83). Treatment in the experimental class had a greater impact with a Cohen’s d value of 1.82 compared to the control class of 1.46. As a result, peer-led problem-based learning has a significant influence on students’ conceptual understanding on the topic of larutan penyangga solutions.
