Abstract

Industri pariwisata merupakan industri global yang menjadi persaingan antar negara-negara untuk menarik wisatawan berkunjung ke negaranya. Salah satu bidang dalam industri pariwisata adalah akomodasi perhotelan. Bidang perhotelan berorientasi pada kualitas sumber daya manusia dan pelayanannya. Dalam memberikan pelayanan tesebut terjadi interaksi antarbudaya Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) Perhotelan dan tamu mancanegara. Sebagai salah satu dari perspektif kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya, intercultural effectiveness penting untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikasi pada konteks antarbudaya. Interaksi dalam konteks antarbudaya tersebut seringkali terjadi hal-hal yang menyebabkan komunikasi menjadi tidak efektif, salah satunya yaitu kekhawatiran komunikasi antarbudaya. Maka dari itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh intercultural effectiveness terhadap kekhawatiran komunikasi antarbudaya (survei Sumber Daya Manusia Perhotelan di Jakarta). Data yang dikumpulkan diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan uji signifikansi regresi dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,005 yang artinya bahwa terdapat pengaruh intercultural effectiveness terhadap kekhawatiran komunikasi antarbudaya dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 63,7%. Berdasarkan uji regresi linear sederhana didapatkan persamaan regresi sebesar Y ̂=131,474-1,190X artinya jika terjadi peningkatan variabel intercultural effectiveness sebesar 1 satuan maka akan menyebabkan penurunan terhadap variabel kekhawatiran komunikasi antarbudaya sebesar 1,190 satuan. ***** The tourism industry is a global industry that becomes competition between countries to attract tourists to visit their countries. One of the fields in the tourism industry is hospitality accommodation. The hospitality sector is oriented towards the quality of human resources and services. In providing this service, there is intercultural interaction between Hospitality Human Resources (HR) and foreign guests. As one of the perspectives of intercultural communication competence, intercultural effectiveness is important for measuring communication skills in intercultural contexts. Interaction in the intercultural context often occurs things that cause communication to be ineffective, one of which is the intercultural communication apprehension. Therefore this study aims to determine the effect of intercultural effectiveness on intercultural communication apprehension (Hospitality Human Resources survey in Jakarta). The data collected was processed and analyzed using a regression significance test with a significance value of 0.000 <0.005, which means that there is an influence of intercultural effectiveness on intercultural communication apprehension with a coefficient of determination of 63.7%. Based on a simple linear regression test, a regression equation of Y ̂=131.474-1.190X means that if there is an increase in the intercultural effectiveness variable by 1 unit, it will cause a decrease in the intercultural communication apprehension variable by 1.190 units.
