Abstract
**** The stress response in research animals can be caused by stressors external to the body. Acute stress can affect behavior, physiological conditions, and the primary immune system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acute stressors (heat stress, forced swim test, and noise stress) on changes in behavior, respiratory rate, and stress index of mice. This study used 3 treatment groups of heat stress (43 C), forced swim test (with water temperature 25 C), and noise stress (100 dB) with observations of behavior, breathing rate, body temperature, and blood tests before and after treatment. Heat stress treatment for 15 minutes, forced swim test for 6 minutes, and noise stress for 4 hours were conducted for 1 week for each treatment group. Parameters in this study include changes in behavior, breath rate, and stress index (N/L) during pre- and post-treatment conditions. The results showed the effect of grooming, resting, exploration, eating and drinking behavior and the effect of stress on the breath rate and stress index of mice after treatment (Sig. <0.05). Giving acute stress (heat stress, forced swim test, and noise stress) provides changes in behavior, as well as an increase in the breath rate, and stress index (N/L) of mice.
