Abstract

ABSTRAK ------ TIARA SETYA CAHYANI. Pengaruh Guided Inquiry dengan Problem-Solving Process terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik pada Topik Larutan Penyangga. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Juli, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh guided inquiry dengan problem-solving process terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas XI pada topik larutan penyangga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 85 Jakarta pada bulan April-Mei 2023. Sebanyak 72 peserta didik dipilih menjadi sampel. Dalam desain kuasi eksperimental, dua kelas yang terpilih menjadi sampel, diacak dengan menggunakan metode flipping coin untuk mengadministrasikan masing-masing kelas menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data diperoleh dari tes esai keterampilan berpikir kritis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji-t independen dan berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guided inquiry dengan problem-solving process berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada topik larutan penyangga. Sehingga dapat dikatakan guided inquiry dengan problem-solving process efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Berdasarkan temuan ini, guru direkomendasikan menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inquiry dengan problem-solving process untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. The Effect of Guided Inquiry with Problem-Solving Process on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Buffer Solution. Mini Thesis, Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. July 2023. This study aims to investigate the effect of guided inquiry with problem-solving process on 11th grade students’ critical thinking skills in buffer solution. The research was conducted in SMA Negeri 85 Jakarta from April to May 2023. Seventy-two students who were selected as samples. In a quasi-experimental design, two intact classes were selected and randomly assigned as the experimental and control groups by flipping coin. The data were obtained from an essay test on critical thinking skills. The obtained data was analyzed using independent and paired sample t-test. The findings indicate that guided inquiry with problem-solving process had a positive effect on student’s critical thinking skills in buffer solution. Thus, it can be said that guided inquiry with problem-solving process is effective in developing students' critical thinking skills in buffer solution. Based on this finding, teachers are recommended to use guided inquiry with problem-solving process learning model in order to promote students’ critical thinking skills.
