Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik berdasarkan studi terdahulu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model case-based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada topik larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Mei tahun 2023 di kelas XI SMAN 85 Jakarta. Dalam desain quasi experimental, dua kelas yang terpilih menjadi sampel, diacak dengan metode flipping coin untuk dijadikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen adalah XI MIPA 1 dan kelas kontrol adalah XI MIPA 4 dengan jumlah masing-masing sebanyak 36 siswa. Tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah menggunakan tes esai berjumlah 9 butir soal. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CBL berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada topik larutan penyangga kelas XI. Dengan kata lain, CBL efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Berdasarkan temuan ini, guru direkomendasikan untuk menerapkan model CBL dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. **** This research is motivated by the low problem-solving abilities of students based on previous studies. This study aims to determine the effect of the case-based learning model on students' problem solving abilities on the topic of buffer solution. This research was conducted in April-May 2023 in class XI at SMAN 85 Jakarta. In a quasi-experimental design, the two classes selected as samples were randomized using the flipping coin method to serve as the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class is XI MIPA 1 and the control class is XI MIPA 4 with a total of 36 students each. The problem-solving ability test uses an essay test with 9 questions. The data obtained were analyzed by t-test. The results showed that CBL had a positive effect on students' problem solving abilities on the topic of class buffer solutions for class XI. In other words, CBL is effective in increasing students' problem solving abilities. Based on these findings, teachers are recommended to apply the CBL model in an effort to increase students' problem-solving ability.
