Abstract
AHMAD ARIYADIH. Pengaruh Socio-Scientific Issues-Based Learning Terhadap Keterampilan Metakognitif Peserta Didik pada Topik Hidrolisis Garam. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Juli 2023. KM peserta didik diperoleh dari Metacognitive Activities Inventory (MCA-I). AHMAD ARIYADIH. The Effect of Socio-Scientific Issues-Based Learning on Students' Metacognitive Skills on the Topic of Salt Hydrolysis. Thesis, Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Jakarta. July 2023. This study aims to determine the effect of Socio-Scientific Issues-Based Learning (SSIBL) on the Metacognitive Skills (KM) of Grade XI students on the topic of salt hydrolysis. A total of 72 learners (male = 28; female = 44) were selected as samples to follow the chemistry subject at SMA Negeri 85 Jakarta. In the quasi-experimental design, the two classes selected as samples were randomized using the flipping coin method to administer each class into experimental and control classes. Learners' KM was obtained from the Metacognitive Activities Inventory (MCA-I). The MCA-I used contains 25 statements, including 10 statements about planning, 13 statements about monitoring, and two statements about evaluation. The data obtained were analyzed using independent and paired t-tests. The results of the t-test show that SSIBL has a positive influence on students' KM. It can be concluded that there is a positive influence of SSIBL on metacognitive skills. In other words, SSIBL is effective in improving learners' metacognitive skills. Based on these findings, teachers are recommended to use the SSIBL method to improve learners' KM on other chemistry topics. Keywords: Socio-Scientific Issues, metacognitive skills, salt hydrolysis.
