Abstract

*Abstrak* -------- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pemahaman konseptual siswa melalui Tes Diagnostik (TD) Two-Tier dalam materi hidrolisis garam dengan Strategi Predict Observe Explain (POE). Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 63 Jakarta pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Subjek penelitian ialah siswa kelas XI MIPA 2 yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Data penelitian yang diperoleh berasal dari lembar observasi, reflektif jurnal, catatan guru, lembar kerja peserta didik, TD two-tier, dan wawancara. Kategori pemahaman konseptual yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari Abraham (1992), yaitu Paham Konsep (PK), Miskonsepsi (M), dan Tidak Paham Konsep (TPK). Pembelajaran dengan strategi POE dilakukan dengan 3 tahapan pembelajaran, yaitu siswa melakukan prediksi, observasi, dan menjelaskan. Hasil penelitian sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori “PK” dengan rata-rata keseluruhan kategori paham konsep 71,84%. Strategi POE dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam. Miskonsepsi atau tidak paham konsep siswa dapat terjadi, karena pemahaman konseptual pada materi sebelumnya belum dipahami sepenuhnya oleh siswa. *Abstract* ---------- This study aims to describe students' conceptual understanding through a Two-Tier Diagnostic Test (TD) in salt hydrolysis material with the Predict Observe Explain (POE) Strategy. The research method used is qualitative. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 63 Jakarta in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The research subjects were students of class XI MIPA 2, totaling 36 students. The research data obtained came from observation sheets, reflective journals, teacher notes, student worksheets, two-tier TD, and interviews. The categories of conceptual understanding used in this study were adapted from Abraham (1992), namely Understanding Concepts (PK), Misconceptions (M), and Not Understanding Concepts (TPK). Learning with the POE strategy is carried out in 3 learning stages, namely students making predictions, observing, and explaining. The results of the study showed that most of the students were in the "PK" category with an average overall understanding of the concept of 71.84%. The POE strategy can improve students' conceptual understanding of salt hydrolysis material. Misconceptions or students not understanding concepts can occur, because conceptual understanding of the previous material has not been fully understood by students.
