Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rata-rata lama sekolah, upah minimum dan pertumbuhan ekonomi terhadap tingkat pengangguran terbuka di Kab/Kota Provinsi Banten. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif, dengan teknik analisis regresi data panel. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh secara sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik Banten. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian estimasi model terbaik, maka diperoleh bahwa (1) rata-rata lama sekolah berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat pengangguran terbuka di Kab/Kota Provinsi Banten menunjukkan bahwa nilai probabilitas 0.0001 lebih rendah dari 0.05; (2) upah minimum berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap tingkat pengangguran terbuka di Kab/Kota Provinsi Banten menujukkan bahwa nilai probabilitas 0.2371 lebih besar dari 0.05; (3) pertumbuhan ekonomi berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat pengangguran terbuka di Kab/Kota Provinsi Banten menunjukkan bahwa nilai probabilitas 0.0000 lebih rendah dari 0.05. Implikasi yang dapat disimpulkan dari hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pemerintah dalam hal ini diharapkan dapat menyediakan lapangan kerja baru maupun meningkatkan lapangan kerja yang sudah ada serta meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dengan peningkatan fasilitas dan pemerataan pendidikan untuk dapat meningkatkan kualitas tenaga kerja yang mampu bersaing dan dibutuhkan dalam dunia kerja. Kata Kunci: Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka, Rata-Rata Lama Sekolah, Upah Minimum, Pertumbuhan Ekonomi *** This study aims to determine the effect of the average length of schooling, minimum wage and economic growth on the open unemployment rate in the Regency/City of Banten Province. The analytical method used is quantitative, with panel data regression analysis techniques. The data used in this study were obtained secondary from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Banten. Based on the results of the best model estimation test, it is found that (1) the average length of schooling has a negative and significant effect on the open unemployment rate in the districts/cities of Banten Province indicating that the probability value is 0.0001 which is lower than 0.05; (2) the minimum wage has a negative and insignificant effect on the open unemployment rate in the Regency/City of Banten Province indicating that the probability value is 0.2371 greater than 0.05; (3) economic growth has a negative and significant effect on the open unemployment rate in the Regency/City of Banten Province indicating that the probability value of 0.0000 is lower than 0.05. The implications that can be concluded from the results of this study state that the government in this case is expected to be able to provide new jobs as well as increase existing jobs as well as improve the quality of human resources by improving facilities and equity of education to be able to improve the quality of a workforce that is able to compete and is needed in the world of work.
