Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh stres dan tindak kekerasan verbal yang dilakukan oleh orangtua terhadap perkembangan emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kota Pagar Alam, Kecamatan Pagar Alam Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan melibatkan 183 orangtua yang memiliki anak usia 5-6 tahun. Metode dalam penelitian ini metode expost facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan lembar observasi perkembangan anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) stres yang dialami oleh orangtua berpengaruh secara langsung negatif terhadap perkembangan emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun pada α = 0,05 thitung < ttabel (-10.001 < 1.9732 ), (2) tindak kekerasan verbal yang dilakukan oleh orangtua berpengaruh secara langsung negatif terhadap perkembangan emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun pada α = 0,05 thitung < ttabel (-16.8055 < 1.9732), (3) stres berpengaruh secara langsung positif terhadap tindak kekerasan verbal pada α = 0,05 thitung > ttabel (10.4417 > 1.9732). Implikasi penelitian. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat stres yang dialami oleh orangtua maka akan semakin tinggi tindak kekerasan verbal yang dilakukan oleh orangtua terhadap anak, semakin tinggi tingkat stres yang dialami oleh orangtua dan semakin tinggi tindak kekerasan verbal yang dilakukan oleh orangtua terhadap anak maka akan membuat perkembangan emosional anak menurun. This study aims to determine the effect of stress and verbal abuse by parents on the emotional development of children aged 5-6 years. This research was conducted in Pagar Alam City, South Pagar Alam District, South Sumatra Province, involving 183 parents who had children aged 5-6 years. The method in this study is the ex post facto method with a quantitative approach. Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and child development observation sheets. The results showed that (1) stress experienced by parents had a direct negative effect on the emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at α = 0.05 tcount < ttable (-10.001 < 1.9732 ), (2) acts of verbal abuse committed by parents directly had a negative effect on the emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at α = 0.05 tcount < ttable (-16.8055 < 1.9732), (3) stress had a significant effect directly positive towards acts of verbal violence at α = 0.05 tcount > ttable (10.4417 > 1.9732). Research implications. It can be interpreted that the higher the level of stress experienced by parents, the higher the acts of verbal violence committed by parents against children, the higher the level of stress experienced by parents and the higher the acts of verbal violence committed by parents against children, the child's emotional development will decrease.
