Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kontrol diri terhadap pengungkapan diri pada emerging adulthood pengguna aplikasi kencan daring di Jabodetabek. Karakteristik sampel penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif aplikasi kencan daring (minimal menggunakan aplikasi sebanyak 2-3 kali dalam satu bulan), berusia 18-29 tahun, dan berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan uji korelasi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) berjumlah 13 item yang dikembangkan oleh Tangney, Baumeister, & Boone (2004), serta instrumen The Jourard Sixty-Item Self-Disclosure Questionnaire (JSDQ) berjumlah 59 item yang dikembangkan oleh Jourard & P. Lasakow (1958). Hasil penelitian pada 202 sampel menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan pengungkapan diri pada emerging adulthood pengguna aplikasi kencan daring di Jabodetabek. Gambaran umum terkait pengungkapan diri pada emerging adulthood pengguna aplikasi kencan daring di Jabodetabek berada pada kategori tinggi sebesar 76,7%, sementara itu gambaran dari kontrol diri nya berada pada kategori tinggi sebesar 69,3%. Kata Kunci: Kontrol Diri, Pengungkapan Diri, Emerging Adulthood, Aplikasi Kencan Daring ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of self-control on self-disclosure in emerging adults who use online dating applications in Jabodetabek. The characteristics of this research sample are active users of online dating applications (at least 2-3 times a month), aged 18-29 years, and domiciled in Greater Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlation test. The instruments used in this study were the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) with 13 items developed by Tangney, Baumeister, & Boone (2004), and The Jourard Sixty-Item Self-Disclosure Questionnaire (JSDQ) instrument with 59 items developed by Jourard & P. Lasakow (1958). The results of the study on 202 samples showed that there was no relationship between self-control and self-disclosure in emerging adults who use online dating applications in Jabodetabek. The general description of self-disclosure in emerging adults who use online dating applications in Jabodetabek is in the high category of 76.7%, while the description of self-control is in the high category of 69.3%.
