Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh fear of missing out terhadap social media fatigue pada generasi Z. Karakteristik sampel penelitian ini adalah Generasi Z, yaitu individu kelahiran 1995-2010, berdomisili di wilayah Jabodetabek, dan menggunakan sosial media sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Social Media Fatigue Scale (SMFS) berjumlah 15 butir item dan Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMOS) berjumlah 8 butir item. Hasil penelitian pada 264 sampel menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan antara fear of missing out terhadap social media fatigue dengan p-value (0,000) < 0.05. Nilai R square sebesar 0,426, yang menunjukkan bahwa fear of missing out berpengaruh sebesar 42,6% terhadap social media fatigue. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pengaruh yang dihasilkan variabel fear of missing out bersifat positif, yang berarti bahwa bila terjadi peningkatan fear of missing out maka diprediksi terjadi peningkatan social media fatigue yang dimiliki. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect fear of missing out to social media fatigue in generation Z. The characteristics of the sample in this study are Generation Z (namely individuals born 1995-2010, domiciled in the Jabodetabek, and use social media on a daily basis). This study uses a quantitative method with regression analysis. The instruments used in this research are Social Media Fatigue Scale (SMFS) totaling 15 items and Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMOS) amounted to 8 items. The results of the study on 264 samples showed a significant effect between fear of missing out to social media fatigue with a p-value (0.000) < 0.05. R square value (0.426), shows that fear of missing out contributed to 42.6% social media fatigue. Based on the research results, fear of missing out has a positive effect on social media fatigue, when there is an increase fear of missing out it is predicted that there will be an increase social media fatigue.
