Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan serta mengetahui makna referensial juga bentuk-bentuknya yakni makna referensial bentuk benda, makna referensial bentuk gejala, dan makna referensial bentuk peristiwa. Sumber data penelitian adalah artikel berita mengenai Marvel Cinematic Universe di media massa daring CNNIndonesia.com pada unggahan bulan Mei 2022. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik dokumentasi pada artikel yang dimaksud. Data yang ditemukan yaitu sejumlah 354 kalimat yang terdapat makna referensialnya, dengan 327 kalimat dengan kata dan frasa bermakna referensial bentuk benda, 132 kalimat dengan gabungan kata, frasa, klausa, atau kalimat bermakna referensial bentuk gejala, dan 4 kalimat dengan gabungan kata, frasa, klausa, atau kalimat bermakna referensial bentuk peristiwa. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa beberapa kata telah mengalami perubahan makna sehingga terdapat pula perubahan acuan. ***** This research aims to describe and identify referential meaning and its forms, namely referential meaning in the form of objects, referential meaning in the form of symptoms, and referential meaning in the form of events. The data source for this research is news articles about Marvel Cinematic Universe on the online mass media CNNIndonesia.com in the posts from May 2022. The method used is descriptive qualitative with documentation techniques on the articles in question. The data found is a total 354 sentences that have referential meaning, with 327 sentences with words and phrases meaning referential forms of objects, 132 sentences with a combination of words, phrases, clauses, or sentences meaning referential forms of symptoms, and 4 sentences with a combination of words, phrases, clauses, or sentences meaning referential forms of events. The results of the research can be concluded that some words have undergone changes in meaning so that there are also changes in reference. Keywords: referential meaning, Marvel Cinematic Universe
