Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya komunikasi VTuber Kizuna Ai dalam A.I. Channel. Gaya komunikasi merupakan cara berperilaku ketika berinteraksi. Hal ini diteliti berdasarkan latar belakang bahwa gaya komunikasi VTuber Kizuna Ai sedikit berbeda dengan orang Jepang pada umumnya. Orang Jepang pada umumnya berkomunikasi secara tidak langsung (indirect), sedangkan Virtual YouTuber Kizuna Ai menyampaikan langsung apa yang ingin dia katakan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori gaya komunikasi menurut Koehler, dkk. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah complete observation (pengamatan penuh) dan sumber data diambil dari YouTube dan dipilih tiga video dengan jumlah pemirsa paling banyak di luar video bertema games dan lagu serta menggunakan teknik filling system oleh Wimmer dan Dominick sebagai teknik analisis data. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa Kizuna Ai menggunakan the equalitarian style dan the controlling style dalam berkomunikasi. The equalitarian style ditunjukkan dengan komunikasi dua arah, memiliki kepedulian yang tinggi terhadap hubungan baik dengan penonton, komunikasi terbuka, suasana santai dan informal. Namun, adakalanya Kizuna Ai berkomunikasi dalam suasana yang tidak santai dan menyombongkan diri saat menyampaikan pendapatnya. Sedangkan, the controlling style ditunjukkan dengan kritik bernada suara negatif, memaksa dan mengarahkan. ***** This research aims to determine the communication style of VTuber Kizuna Ai in A.I. Channels. Communication style is a way of behaving when interacting. This was researched based on the background that VTuber Kizuna Ai's communication style is slightly different from Japanese people in general. Japanese people generally communicate indirectly, while Virtual YouTuber Kizuna Ai conveys directly what he wants to say. The theory used is communication style theory according to Koehler, et al. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique was complete observation and the data source was taken from YouTube and three videos with the highest number of viewers outside of games and song themed videos were selected and used the filling system technique by Wimmer and Dominick as a data analysis technique. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that Kizuna Ai uses the equalitarian style and the controlling style in communicating. The equalitarian style is demonstrated by two-way communication, high concern for good relationships with the audience, open communication, a relaxed and informal atmosphere. However, sometimes Kizuna Ai communicates in an unrelaxed atmosphere and brags when expressing his opinions. Meanwhile, the controlling style is demonstrated by criticism in a negative, forcing and directing tone.
