Abstract

Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi memberikan potensi sekaligus tantangan bagi dunia pendidikan, yang mengharuskan para guru dan ahli untuk mempromosikan keterampilan abad ke-21, termasuk memasukan kompetensi kewarganegaraan dalam materi pembelajaran; salah satunya melalui media YouTube. Namun, hanya sedikit penelitian yang meneliti inkorporasi kompetensi kewarganegaraan dalam teks interpersonal di YouTube untuk siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis inkorporasi kompetensi kewarganegaraan di YouTube yang berpotensi dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan ajar teks interpersonal untuk siswa SMP kelas VII berdasarkan Kurikulum Merdeka. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis konten kualitatif, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan kerangka kerja yang dikembangkan oleh Council of Europe’s Reference Framework of Competence for Democratic Culture (RFDC) oleh Barrett (2021) sebagai indikator untuk menganalisis penggabungan kompetensi kewarganegaraan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggunakan kerangka kerja dari Celce-Murcia et al., (1995) untuk menganalisis interpersonal teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keenam video YouTube tersebut menggabungkan kompetensi nilai dan sikap, dengan mayoritas kompetensi kewarganegaraan diwakili oleh kompetensi sikap berupa keterbukaan dan rasa hormat dengan kemunculan sebesar 100%. Sementara itu, untuk teks interpersonal, keenam video YouTube memuat semua teks interpersonal yang harus dikuasai di kelas 7 SMP dengan sapaan dan pamitan sebagai mayoritas teks interpersonal dengan kemunculan 100%. Oleh karena itu, temuan ini diharapkan dapat membantu guru dan para pemangku kepentingan untuk menyediakan materi pembelajaran yang variatif dan terpercaya, salah satunya melalui YouTube, yang berpotensi dapat digunakan untuk untuk mempelajari teks interpersonal dan mempromosikan kompetensi kewarganegaraan.*****The advancement of science and technology poses both potential and challenges for education, requiring teachers and experts to promote 21st-century skills, including citizenship in learning material; one of the learning media that can be utilized is YouTube is YouTube. However, only a few studies have examined the incorporation of citizenship competency in interpersonal text on YouTube for seventh-grade junior high school students. This study aims to describe how citizenship competence is incorporated in YouTube, which potentially can be used for learning interpersonal text for seventh-grade junior high school students based on the Kurikulum Merdeka. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the data is evaluated using the framework developed by the Council of Europe’s Reference Framework of Competence for Democratic Culture (RFDC) by Barrett, (2021) as the indicators to analyze citizenship competency. Moreover, this study also uses a framework by Celce-Murcia et al., (1995) for interpersonal text. The result shows that citizenship competence; value and attitude are incorporated in most of the YouTube videos, with the majority represented by attitude competence in the form of openness and respect with 100% occurrence. All YouTube videos contain interpersonal text that must be mastered in 7th-grade junior high school, with greetings and leave-taking as the majority of interpersonal text with 100% occurrence. Therefore, these findings will help teachers and stakeholders to provide reliable and varied learning materials, one of which is YouTube, which can potentially be used for learning interpersonal text and promoting citizenship competencies.
