Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna kata yang mengandung polisemi dalam poster iklan majalah Elle bertema “Spécial beauté, éclatante!” Edisi 3 September 2021. Polisemi merupakan kegandaan makna yang dapat menyebabkan kesalahan dalam menafsirkan makna sebuah kata. Analisis polisemi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan teori klasifikasi kelas kata oleh Teodora Cristea (2001). Ada beberapa kategori kelas kata yang terdapat dalam poster iklan majalah Elle. Terdapat tiga kelas kata, yaitu nomina, verba, adjektiva. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kata dan frasa yang bermakna polisemi bersumber dari poster iklan majalah Elle bertema “Spécial beauté, éclatante!” Edisi 3 September 2021. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat total 31 kata dan frasa yang bermakna polisemi. Kemudian dibagi menjadi 3 kelas kata, yaitu 20 kata merupakan jenis polisemi nomina, 8 merupakan jenis kata polisemi adjektiva dan 2 kata merupakan jenis kata polisemi verba. Polisemi pada poster iklan dalam majalah Elle dipengaruhi oleh makna kontekstual terkait penggunan kata dalam sebuah ujaran. Kata Kunci : kelas kata, majalah Elle, polisemi, poster iklan, semantik. ***** This research aims to examine the meaning of words containing polysemy in Elle magazine advertising posters with the theme “Spécial beauté, éclatante!” edition 3 September 2021. Polysemy is a multiple meaning that can have an impact on the occurrence of errors in interpreting the meaning of the word. Polysemy analysis of this research employed the theory of word class classification by Teodora Cristea (2001). There are several word class categories contained in Elle magazine advertisement posters. There are three classes of words, there are nouns, verbs, adjectives. This research used a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Research data collection techniques used documentation studies. This research focuses on a word and phrases which means polysemy which is sourced from an advertising poster in Elle magazine with the theme “Spécial beauté, éclatante!” Edition 3 September 2021. The research results obtained are that there are a total of 31 words and phrases that mean polysemy. Then it is divided into 3 word classes, consisting of 20 words nouns polysemy, 8 words adjectives polysemy and 2 words verbs polysemy. Polysemy on advertising posters in Elle magazine is influenced by contextual meanings related to the use of words in an utterance.
