Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran orientasi karir pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 385 mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Convenience Sampling dengan menggunakan teori jangkar karir dan instrumen Career Orientation Inventory yang dikembangkangkan oleh Magid Igbaria dan Jack J. Baroudi (1993) kemudian diadaptasi oleh Khaeriah (2021) dengan butir pernyataan menunjukkan bahwa instrumen telah valid serta memiliki nilai Cronbach Alpha dengan hasil sebesar 0,909. Teknis analisa yang digunakan yaitu statistika deskriptif dengan mencari skor rata-rata atau mean. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gambaran orientasi karir mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta secara keseluruhan sejumlah 135 mahasiswa memilih Job Security sebagai karir dominan. 67 mahasiswa memilih Sense of Service, 51 mahasiswa pada Managerial Competence, 35 mahasiswa memilih Technical Competence, 33 mahasiswa pada Creativity and Entrepreneurship, 25 mahasiswa pada Autonomy, 24 mahasiswa memilih Geographical Security, 9 mahasiswa pada Pure Challenge, dan 6 mahasisw pada Lifestyle Integration. Sehingga saran dari penelitian ini diharapkan Guru BK melaksanakan tes dengan instrumen Career Orientation Inventory untuk membantu siswa sebelum memilih karirnya. ***** This research aims to describe the career orientation of Jakarta State University students using quantitative research methods using a descriptive approach. The sample in this study was 385 students at Jakarta State University. The research sample was taken using the Convenience Sampling technique using career anchor theory and the Career Orientation Inventory instrument developed by Magid Igbaria and Jack J. Baroudi (1993) then adapted by Khaeriah (2021) with a statement item indicating that the instrument is valid and has a Cronbach Alpha value with a result of 0.909. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics by looking for the average score. The results of this research show that the overall career orientation of Jakarta State University students is 135 students choosing Job Security as the dominant career. 67 students chose Sense of Service, 51 students chose Managerial Competence, 35 students chose Technical Competence, 33 students chose Creativity and Entrepreneurship, 25 students chose Autonomy, 24 students chose Geographical Security, 9 students chose Pure Challenge, and 6 students chose Lifestyle Integration. So the suggestions from this research are that it is hoped that BK teachers will carry out tests using the Career Orientation Inventory instrument to help students before choosing their career.
